Feedback for Beta (Mini 3 Pro) - Performance & Stability Non-flight regime - UPDATED!!!! NOW FLOWN
Hello All:
I wanted to give some feedback as to non-flight regime software stability and performance status during my navigating of the Dronelink software while connected to my DJI Mini 3 Pro. Hardware/software listed below (as of 4-25-2023):
- DJI Mini 3 Pro with v01.00.0600
- RC-N1 Controller with v1.10.1
- Moto G Power 128GB running Android 12
- 128GB SD Card in both the Smartphone and Drone
- Dronelink DJI App (for modern DJI drones) v4.6.0 (254) Kernal 4.6.0
PLEASE NOTE: I HAVE NOT TEST FLOWN THE DRONE - THIS IS A STATIC TEST AND I'VE NOT PAID FOR HOBBYIST OR PROFESSIONAL ACCESS. I was simply trying to connect my drone to the Dronelink app to get telemetry, camera image, and play with settings.
Issues Detected:
- Once connected to the drone and loading up the telemetry/map interface, going from menu to menu (camera, gimbal, etc.) causes a crash. This seemed to happen ONLY WHEN I was connected to a wifi source other than the drone's. In other words, if I disconnect from wifi sources (say my home's wifi) and the phone is only connected to the drone's wifi, this crash does not occur. So make sure you are not connected to any other wifi source when connected to the drone via Dronelink's app. This also must be done in order to use DJI's own Quick Transfer of files from the drone to your phone.
- DJI's Fly app definitely needs to be killed before using the Dronelink app. This has been already indicated but I can confirm it as well.
- Dronelink's app needs to be killed before using the DJI Fly app. If I do not kill the Dronelink app, DJI's Fly app will load but will not connect to the drone. The introduction screen showing the Connection Guide, Album, SkyPixel, etc. will only load and the drone will not connect to the DJI Fly app.
Interestingly, Map Pilot Pro also makes an app similar to Dronelink but I cannot use it as their website indicates the following:
- DJI has limited the Enterprise version to only support Android versions 7 through 11.
I can verify this to be the case with their app because as soon as the MPP app detects my drone, a message stating that my phone isn't compatible pops up (and indeed I am running Android 12).
I find it odd that DJI would not support the latest Android versions. Had I know, I'd not have updated my phone.
This is for now. I am hoping to purchase the Hobbyist Premium plan or become a Beta tester.
Anyway, hope this helps.

Drone model name comes up pretty quick, all the aircraft info displays, just no video, and sometimes that message. As for flying missions with it, idk I'm not gonna fly missions with no video feed.
Does this work with dji rc? Is it worth getting that?

DJI RC Pro is great, DJI RC no: https://support.dronelink.com/hc/en-us/articles/16359891190931-Why-is-the-DJI-RC-not-supported-
One more reason to love or leave Dji.. They've really gone all out on encouraging people to buy their high end, high dollar products.
Love my mini2 with RC-N1 controller, especially in conjunction with Galaxy Tab 7FE 5G
Definitely things to love about them.loved my old. Mavic zoom, worked for. Mission planning and an optical zoom wheel, not just fractional zoom. Pity they don't support or make them anymore
Hi, first time posting. If I should post elsewhere, please forgive and guide me.
I have a Samsung A54 5G, Android v13. Dronelink DJI version 4.8.3 installed. Mini 3 Pro with DJI RC-N1
Created a short 4 waypoint mission of my property. Mission ran successfully!!
The only hiccup I noticed, for 8 to 10 seconds, between waypoint A & B, the video transmission was distorted. It looked like something between video tearing and zebra. Other than that the mission ran perfectly. Thanks! Keep up the good work!!
Hello everyone. Started testing Dronelink with my Mini 3 Pro this week.
Works with RC-N1 + Nokia G42 5G, Android 13.0.
Ran a 10 acre mission twice a couple of days ago, 60m and then 90m height, about -1 degree celsius and ~7m/s wind gusts, planning and execution went flawlessly, solid map.
3D preview doesn't work though, it opens a blank map and freezes the app. Tried it while planning a mission and to preview a finished mission, same result.
Got another glitch while running an orbit today. I like to fly with my control stick functions switched on the RC-N1, but when I initiated the orbit and tried to adjust the height while it was running, I found out that those functions have been switched back to the default settings. Was happy to find out that the obstacle avoidance does work while running orbits, would have crashed otherwise. When I stopped the orbit, the control sticks switched back to my settings.
Also the gimbal sideways trim doesn't have a reset button or an indicator to tell you by how much it has been tilted, once you exit the trim menu. So I guess I got it manually back in level now but would be great to have an indicator at least.
All in all, not too bad for a beta.
Not a fan of the fact that non of the hobbyist plans, even elite, allow running autonomous missions with 48MP camera settings though. It should be allowed since my drone is capable of it. I thought limiting drones' actual capabilities by limiting the capabilities of the software through which it runs was DJI's style and that's why we're here...
Anyways, that's just my 2 cents.
Cheers.
Hi Artis Krastins. I will try to assist you. If you’re using the mission planner within the DL Native app then I’d suggest using Firefox browser as it works best overall for mission previews and 3D view. The Native apps mission planners performance is not as good as when using Firefox browser. So at least for now you may want to use Firefox. If you are using Firefox browser then delete everything in the browsing history, cache, etc. and try again. I’m sure DL can look into why you are having issues with the mission planner but it may be do to a few things. As far as the Orbit, was it a created mission plan Orbit or On the Fly Orbit ? The sticks are always disabled when running pre-planned, (created missions.) once the mission is completed then you will have stick control. The sticks during an On the Fly Orbit can be enabled but must be done during the setup process. The gimbal pitch should be indicated if under the general settings tab you have “heading and attitude” Hope some of this helps.
Tested our S10+ this morning and video worked fine. Here is the configuration:
Works on our Poco X4:
Thanks.
Will give it try tomorrow.
My S10 + :
- one UI version : same
- Android version : same
- google play update : 2023 on mine
- basebande version : not the same
- kernel version : not the same
- build version : not the same
- SE for android ... : not the same
I am not able to assess the consequences of the deltas.

Hey Mike.
Thanks for trying to help.
I tried 3D view on Firefox and Chrome, both with the same result - the 3D view and default mission planner view both go black. After trying it for about 7 more times, the 3D view worked but the default view remained black. Tried it again for a few times but it never worked again. Posting screenshots.
The orbit was On The Fly orbit and yes, I did enable the stick control at the orbit setup. The problem was that the control functions were switched, as in the left stick was doing what the right stick was programmed to do. After I stopped the orbit function, the controls went back to normal.
As for gimbal trip, there is no indicator for that. There is only an indicator for gimbal pitch.
Cheers.
Can you try it on a computer instead?
Just did
Guessing either a network issue (vpn, firewall, etc), or this: https://support.dronelink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360035213633-Why-does-the-3D-view-say-ArcGIS-failed-to-load-in-the-web-app-
Probably best to not use this thread anymore for this issue as there are already many other, non-beta related threads for it.
Well, you could call it a non-beta related issue if the same "ArcGIS API failed to load" window would show up on the native app. But like I explained before, it freezes the app.
I thought the point of beta testing is for the users to report all the issues they are having, so you can work them out.
So, you're welcome.
Hi Artis Krastins. I believe he means this thread is specifically for the Mini 3’s and the app crashes which overall have been fixed. It’s not a big deal but just better to post in another existing thread pertaining specifically to the ArcGIS error. This way it would be much easier for others to search and find the answer rather than going through the pages and pages of crash discussion over 6 months on this thread. As I stated, not a big deal just better. As far as that ArcGIS error anytime that error has come up I just delete everything to include, browsing history, cache, downloads, cookies, (basically everything) and it has always worked as long as the settings are correct to allow the Esri's SceneView ArcGIS to work correctly. Have you tried both Firefox and Chrome on your PC. Other than the info in the link Jim sent I’m not sure what else to suggest. Also as he suggested any VPN or firewall setting may restrict it as well. I’m sure it’s frustrating but I have not seen anyone else recently with this issue which could not be fixed by following all the suggestions. If you can’t get it working I may be able to help further if we can figure out a way to speak in real time. I can send my email if you can’t get working. Please Let me know.
Exactly
Mapping mission flown with a Mini 3 Pro and an old cheap Android phone (let me know if you need deets). Flawless mission from takeoff to landing. Thank you so much for all your hard work!
Mini 3 is out of Beta per the provided link. Make sure you use the Dronelink download to update any future versions as you cannot download from the Google store.
