Mini 2 and iOS disconnect

Kevin McCormick

Hello all,

I've recently created a Dronelink account and downloaded the Dronelink Flight app (3.3.0) onto my i-Phone XS (iOS 15.3.1) to utilise with my Mini 2.  However, my i-Phone won't connect to the drone, although I do see my created missions within the app.

Am I unable to connect to my Mini 2 drone because Dronelink/iOS are still in their Beta development phase, or is it more likely user error at me end and I'm missing an obvious step?  Just seeking a bit of guidance for this newbie.

Thanks,

Kevin

Mini 2 is available with Beta version only at this time.

Thanks for the reply Mike, much appreciated!

If able, for my own clarity, are the bullet points below generally correct?

    • The Beta version is the developmental stage to identify and rectify any 'gremlins' in the iOS update.
    • To operate the iOS Beta version this would require the 'Test Pilot' app to be downloaded and certain permissions granted to access.
    • Once the iOS Beta testing has been completed (~3 months?), Dronelink will update the Dronelink app allowing iOS users greater functionality within their software.

I don’t speak for Dronelink but Yes, and you will need the Testflight app from the App Store. Overall the functionality may be the same depending on what plan you purchase.

    ~3 months?

I don’t think we’ve ever had a beta last that long except for v1.

    Thanks Jim.

It's a fantastic package developed by you and the Dronelink team. Btw, my ~3 month guesstimate was based on this TestFlight extract (90 days).

Any updates on Mini 2 support outside of the beta test?

That's what I thought. I still can't connect though, but I'll make a separate support post.

    Hi

How do I get an invite to test Drone link beta for my mini 3 pro?

Hey Eric. This is a very old post and a different topic so it may be better in the future to start a new thread. Nothing wrong asking here but it may not get the attention as a new post. There are a ton of DL help articles available to assist you and specifically with getting up and running with the Mini 3. I’d suggest looking through other articles as well so you understand the apps capabilities. Enjoy.
