Connection issues - downlink lost
Hi there,
I'm having some serious problems with the app, I keep losing the connection to the drone.
It first happened on a mission about 6 minutes in, about 1.5 km away, here is the log:
https://www.phantomhelp.com/LogViewer/7KYZQWFB0IK9CT2P9MAB
The drone kept disconnecting / connecting several times in a row. And then I just lost connection altogether, it initiated a RTH and then the signal was completely gone: no dot on the map or anything and I thought it had crashed or something. Eventually I heard the drone hover back but even though the app still didn't connect, I could still manually operate the RC sticks to help it land safely. Quite a scary mission!
Now I've made sure everything was updated / recalibrated but I still run into the same issue: it connects and immediately fails and connects again in a loop, I can't even take off.
Meanwhile, the official DJI Fly app is connecting successfully, clear signal and feed, no interruptions whatsoever (just to be clear, the Fly app wasn't running or even installed when I experience the failures). So can I assume the problem is with the Dronelink app? Any way to fix this?
Thanks!
(DJI mini 2, Dronelink app version up to date at 4.8.0)

C'est depuis la 4.8.0 ?
ok Bruno Masse, what device(phone) and controller are you using to fly the mini 2< are you sure you've got the right version of Dronelink(Dronelink rather than Dronelink DJI), if you go here and enter all the relevant details that will ensure you get the right app https://www.dronelink.com/download
Yes, I am running the latest 4.8.0 version (with Kernel updated as well). And yes it the correct app.
What phone and controller
I'm using a 6th generation iPad (OS 16.6) and the DJI RC without a screen (on the back it says C5?). I've ran over 20 missions on this setup without this issue.
That link doesn’t work so not sure what it shows. Are saying it’s the drones connection to the app which keeps disconnecting ? Have you tried changing the cable ? Sounds more like the connection between the drone and controller which is something that DL does not control. Any interfere could cause a disconnect between the drone and controller which sounds like what happen since it went into RTH and returned. Two very different things.
Can you reproduce the issue. If so, is it only at this location?
I've checked the firmware and app versions and everything is up to date.
The drone can fly manually using either DJI Fly or just Dronelink. No issues with connection there, the RC connects with the drone as usual, photos and videos work fine, etc.
I've tried to recreate the issue, and sure enough, when I load any mapping mission in the Dronelink app, the drone can't connect: I get errors messages in a loop: "Telemetry unavailable", then "Ready to go", then quickly "Disconnected", and so on.
I've recorded the error loop here, sorry for the bad quality:

I've made sure the DJI Fly app was closed when I lauched the Dronelink app.
I've also switched cables, made sure they were connected properly, no luck.
If it keeps connecting and disconnecting then it sounds like you didn't do 3.2: https://support.dronelink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052025194-Why-is-Dronelink-unable-to-connect-to-my-drone-
That link you sent works now and it shows the distance of just over a mile away in the logs when it disconnects and goes into Go Home/RTH. Looks like it’s a disconnection issue between drone and controller. If it does then DL won’t work as you have no connection. I don’t use that logging app but Airdata will show the radio signal percentage which I don’t see in that App.
RTH is triggered when connection is lost.
As a conclusion, it worked as per design.
I appreciate all the help! Sadly, no success.
I'm on iOS and the 3.2 seems to refer only to android, but yes, I had made sure to kill the DJI Fly app while running the Dronelink app. In any case, the Dronelink app connects fine with on-the-fly missions, but can't connect on mapping missions. Hard to make to sense of it.
Will try using an android device to run the app and report back if that works.
Doesn’t matter what type plan it is the connection has nothing to do with a mission plan. Sounds like you mean once it’s connected it will not load or run a mapping mission. Can you share the mapping mission ?
