Only red error messages on controller after connecting DJI 3 Mini Pro to Dronelink

U Streuli

Drone: DJI Mini 3 Pro, Firmware: V01.00.0600
Controller: DJI RC Pro, Firmware: V03.02.0500
Dronelink DJI app version on controller: 4.8.0 (270) kernel 4.8.0
Dronelink plan: Elite

Hi everybody,

I have installed and uninstalled the dronelink app several times exactly according to dronelink's specifications. I also forced the DJI app to close before starting dronelink.

Then I start dronelink and see the “DJI 3 Mini 3 Pro” display in red in the top right corner. When I click on this, I see one red error message after the other on the dashboard - regardless of whether I'm outside or inside. For example: +2 GPS signal not available, altitude limit, home location not recorded, unable to take off, etc.

Compass calibration doesn't work either.

I hope someone can help me, I'm desperate with dronelink! I have internet connection to the controller. The problem must be with the dronelink app, because everything works perfectly with the DJI fly app.

One single time the display was green and I was able to complete a mission. But after that it never worked again, no matter what I tried.

Greeting from Zurich, Switzerland
Urs

You may want to go through this link and make sure it’s the correct Version for the Mini 3 Pro with the RC Pro controller which is the only combination which has been out of Beta for awhile. There are a lot of permissions as well as force closing DJI pilot app if needed. There is a step by step you can try as well. Also did you try installing or from their Dronelink download page. Other then that it should work.

    Hello,

Thank you very much for your very quick answer!

I did everything exactly step by step as written in your link and meanwhile, I did it at least twenty times, with no success. But I just realized that in the step where I have to allow all the permissions, I‘m getting only the screen to allow Dronelink DJI to access this device‘s location and as soon as I allow this, the process is finished there. I don’t get the other three screens to give allowance to make and manage phone calls, to access photos and media on your device and to record audio. But I guess that‘s because I‘m using the RC Pro controller and not a smartphone with android iOS, right?

    Thanks Martin
YES, î‘m sure. In the wizzard I selected DJI Mini 3 Pro as my drone and RC Pro as my controller.

U Streuli, was worth a check, is there anywhere in the settings on the controller, you can access the permissions

Reading this https://support.dronelink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360033103354 you need to grant ALL permissions and it doesn't matter that the controller isn't a phone, so maybe worth doing an uninstall and reinstall

yes, in the settings on the controller I can access the permission manager and I have granted all available permissions for dronelink, namely „make and manage phone calls“, „access devices location“ and „access photos and media“ but there was no possibility to grant permission for „record audio“ and it still doesn‘t work, even not after uninstall and reinstall the dronelink app. Is it possible that I have a wrong SDK code on my controller or drone?

Or is it possible that the latest software update of dronelink has a bug regarding granting these permissions?

Step 9 is actually completely different than shown in the official step-by-step instructions on https://support.dronelink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025829973-How-do-I-install-the-Dronelink-app-on-RC-Pro-RC-Enterprise-Pro-RC-Plus-Step-by-step-instructions- only the second of these four screens appears.

It is true that the Dronelink DJI app (MSDKv5) requires less permissions, but they all still need to be granted, which is sounds like you did.

Did you properly force terminate DJI Fly as described here: https://support.dronelink.com/hc/en-us/articles/13139796197011

Yes, I always properly force terminate DJI Fly before using dronelink as described in your link.

Can you share a screen recording show the behavior and the error messages?

I have installed the latest firmware on my drone and controller. I assume that the corresponding SDK code is automatically installed with the latest firmware.

Thank you all for your support. Meanwhile I was out in the field and tested it again at different places and after several red error messages, all of a sudden it turned green and I was able to fly and complete two different missions! So next week I will do some more field tests to be sure that everything is working well now 😊✊🏻✊🏻
