Dronelink 4.7.0 and DJI mini 3 pro with RC-N1 - no connection between App and Drone : error "DJI SDK Initialization"

Marc Mertens

Hello,

This morning the Dronelink App asked to install the new version of the App (4.7.0 (266)).

I did install the app and I now the drone cannot connect. I got an orange color warning "DJI SDK Initialization".

With the DJI Fly app everything is ok.

Would be great if it was possible to redownload a previous version of the app.

Thanks for your help.

Best regards

PS : I have a DJI Mini 3 Pro + RC-N1.

I need to also add, that the problem is with the Android app. The problem is detected on one phone (Redmi K20 - Android 12) but not on another phone (Samsung S20FE - Android 13).

Can you please delete and reinstall the app fresh and report if it still happens?

Would be great if it was possible to redownload a previous version of the app.

The purpose of the beta is to test the latest builds. If you no longer want to test, please install the production version.

I am using Tripltek 9 with RC-N1 and found same issue as above.  DJI SDK Initialization and no connection.

I can confirm that I have no DJI apps running on the device in the background and that DJI Fly was force quit terminated, and tested on a fresh boot as well with no DJI Fly autolaunching.

Does the device have a network connection?

Not currently able to reproduce this. Do you have an alternate device to try?

DJI Fly was force quit terminated

With the steps discussed here? https://support.dronelink.com/hc/en-us/articles/13139796197011

I do have an alternate device to try and will work on it this afternoon.

And yes, force quit was through the method described in the article, rather than just closing from the app drawer.  (Familiar with doing it on my Mavic 3 Enterprise RC Pro controller.  : )

So, I let everything sit for a bit.  Tried again.  And Jim, it worked right out of the gate.  I don't know what my mis-step was, but things are working fine now.  I take it all back.  : )

Given the required internet connection to auth via DJI somehow, I'm wondering if something was flaky on the DJI side for me getting to them.

I ran into the same problem as you Tony, and was able to reproduce it (On a Lg g7 thin q android 10 , mini 3 pro + rc n1)

First I updated to version 266, I connected fine and was able load/ start a mission. Then when the app crashed and I rep opened it I was met with "Initializing DJI SDK" and I couldn't connect. I also tried force quitting as shown in the link you sent above.

To reproduce the error I uninstalled/ downloaded the beta app again. Same thing, at first all works well then when the app crashes I can't connect when I re open.

First time I had no network connection (which hasn't been a problem before). Second time I did it while on Wifi.

I've encountered this issue as well. A force quit didn't resolve the problem, but a phone restart did. In my case, I don't have the DJI fly app installed on the phone so there is no conflict there.

I did a map today, with RC-N1 and last version 4.7.0 updated just before.

Everything was OK. No disconnection at all.

One pb remains the automatic translation (in french for me) which is to be reviewed ...

Jim McAndrew, please ask your colleagues to send me the appropriate document for that.

    RCN1, Mini 3, DL 4.70 (267), Android 12, Pixel 4a.

I was able to reproduce the "DJI SDK Initializing" error and no drone connection in the Dronelink app. This was after successfully flying for about 10min and getting a crash.

To get past this error and get video feed back in the DL app, I closed DL, opened DJI Fly, toggled the RC from Normal to Cine to Normal, closed DJI Fly, then opened DL app and was able to get connection, video feed and resume the mission.

Wonder if toggling the flight mode helps anyone else?

I figured out a work around that works for me to get reconnected:
    1) app crashes
    2) unplug phone
    3) relaunch app but don't reselect any missions
    4) plug in phone
    5) wait for the grey icon in the upper right to go from grey to green
    6) launch mission

I have the same issue as above.

    Samsung S22+
    Android 13 (One UI 5.1)
    RC-N1
    DJI MINI 3 PRO
    Kernel 4.7.0(267)

Your app forced me to update to version 267 else I couldnt use it...

(Please stop forcing users to update when your app is so unstable,

I am happy enough if it works)

It worked fine before the update (with the usual crashes I mean).

Now it is stuck on 'initializing DJI SDK' meanwhile DJI FLY work normally.

DJI FLY is always stopped before running dronelink.

Please stop forcing users to update

The Mini 3 is currently in beta testing. If you are not interested in testing or putting up with the way that we run our tests, then please leave the beta test.

when your app is so unstable

To be clear, it is not Dronelink that is unstable, it is DJI's MSDKv5 running on modern Android devices. The same exact Dronelink code runs with no crashes on DJI's controllers, MSDKv4 drones, and iOS.

    Is there a non-beta version for mini 3x ?
I was thinking that only beta is existing.

stéphane GARNIER, It's out of beta on the RC Pro controller

Correct, because the RC Pro doesn’t have all the app crashing issues.

We try to keep this article as up to date as possible with info on this: https://support.dronelink.com/hc/en-us/articles/15304402363411-Mini-3-Mini-3-Pro-Support-Overview

    Hello,

Have the same issue. Random crashes. Is there a way to check the logs and share with you?

I think you'll find all the crash logs go direct to Dronelink

Not to pile on...  same issues.  Olly solid fix is to delete and reload the DL app for me.
