Did you kill DJI Fly before opening Dronelink? Did you grant all permissions?
Yes. It happens only o. The galaxy with Exynos. On my old Huawei it works
Hi Jim, hi Thomas,
wow, same here: I recently bought a Samsuing Galaxy S21 Ultra and only then I found out that neither DJI FlyApp nor Dronelink app are compatible with that phone... no live picture from the MavicMini visible, screen stays just black... :-(
It is apparently due to the processor the S21 Ultra uses - maybe just certain country versions affected (mine is a "German" phone).
DJI is obviously already working on that issue and will solve it in version 1.4.2, as I read somewhere.
@Jim:
Will that fix from DJI for the FlyApp then also fix the issue in the Dronelink app automatically?
Or is there no interconnection between the two apps?
KR, Oliver
I assume they would also have to release the fix in the DJI SDK (if it isn't a drone firmware update).
Hi Jim,
after some weeks, I have made a lot of updates of my hardware today, now I have the following:
Version of DJI Fly app: 1.4.8. (1116)
Version of Dronelink app: 2.4.0. (155)
Version of Firmware of drone: 1.00.0500
Version of Firmware of remote control: 1.00.0600
Version of FlySafe Datebase: 0100.01.23
I have the DJI Mavic Mini and 2 smartphone at hand:
Samsung Galaxy S8+ and
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra - obviously a "german" version with that Exynos CPU
With the old S8+ smartphone, all good.
With the S21 Ultra, all good with DJI Fly App now. They seem to have fixed it with version 1.4+
But the Dronelink app still does not show the live picture - just sometimes if shows a live picture from the gimbal camera, but it is more like a still picture, no live picture.
Any clu what I could do? Will it require a fix from your end?
If you nedd more input / details, happy to help!
KR, Oliver
Probably. DJI released a new SDK a few days ago which might have a fix for it. We probably won't upgrade the SDK until Dronelink 2.4.2+ (no time window yet).
DJI's latest SDK claims to have fixed this. Can you try our latest beta apk (171) and tell us if it works?
Hi Jim, i just installed Version 171 and camera live picture is back now.
Thank you, great!
Fyi, it only worked after i signed on to the beta program and then received an update notification in Google Play.
The linked APK files from the dronelink beta page seem to be Version 169 and there it did not work.
Wrong / old files linked maybe?
Bye, Oliver
The production APK has not been updated yet, but the beta has is.
Thomas Walz, I have the same problem! ( Mavic Mini + Samsung S21 Ultra )
I just got a new S21 Ultra and my camera feed is black all the time.
after multiple reboots and connection checking & downloading the latest software , I was going crazy
wondering what was wrong......... VERY helpful for you to blaze the trail in posting this problem.
LOOKs like this problem Won't be fixed soon ? correct ...
I am thinking about getting a Mavic Mini-2
Any Idea if this same problem happens with ( Mavic Mini-2 + Samsung S21 Ultra ) ??
much thanks . Matthew
Matthew, it is fixed, but only in the beta version. Download & install the beta version and it should be all fine. KR, Oli
Jim I was using the Samsung S21 and your app was working fine. I switched to a tablet, Samsung S7 and your program was working fine but I was getting the msg. "Image transmission signal weak". I have been having some RTH issues and someone said they thought it might be related to that error msg. I disconnected the tablet and hooked up the S21 and opened DJI Fly and the msg. was gone. I then tried to open Dronelink and could not open it. I receive this error msg. I am using DJI 1.4.12 and Dronelink 3.1.0 and I granted all permissions. Any ideas what happened?
If you are using Android 12, that isn't supported yet (due to DJI SDK bug).
Hi Jim,
your latest answer surprises me. I am using a Samsung S21Ultra (German) with Android 12.
Dronelink (3.0.1. (179)) generally works in that setup with my DJI Mini 1:
- I can start and fly the Drone.
- I see live picture.
What do you mean when you say it is not supported yet?
Only thing I experienced recently: On a path mission, i kept getting the error "Telemetry delayed".
KR, Oliver
I am a little confused too because I was originally using the S9 and was advised it was too old and slow. I had a chance to get an S21 on an AT&T deal and I was flying just fine with it. The screen was small and I had another deal for an 8" Samsung tablet. I started using the tablet and was getting msg. that device was too slow. That is when I decided to go back to the S21 and I could not even open Dronelink. I tried uninstalling and re-installing but nothing worked. I don't understand how 3 months ago I could use my S21 and now I can't. The only thing I think could have happened is the phone automatically updated itself causing the issue. Jim is this something you can fix on your end? I could not see how to go back to old updates but I have not googled it yet.
Oliver I get that telemetry msg. quite often, I can usually just re-start the mission but it bites into the flight time and the mission often cannot be completed.
I am quite happy with both programs it just seems sometimes that the gear work are not meshing properly between the two. But even with the few bugs I, and others, have found I am quite happy with both companies. I just wish DJI could be a little more accommodating to us Android users.
Many other users are reporting the Android 12 issue:

Hi Jim,
ah, ok. Interesting.
Maybe even now it makes a difference which CPU is used (whether or not it has the Exynos processor) which led to this whole thread anyway, see above.
If there is anything I can do for you (as I seem to have a currently working Galaxy S21Ultra with Dronelink 3.0.1), let me know. Happy to help.
Else, I am waiting for the new DJI SDK anyway, as my Mini 2 get's bored :-) ... I keep my fingers crossed for Dec 31st...
KR, Oliver
Hi Jim McAndrew, Should this Camera Feed issue be solved in the current production version?
I have just joined Dronelink so I am able to take regular waypoint photo's of our current new factory build. I have control of my DJI Mini SE, but no camera feed coming through.
I'm not exactly comfortable running the Beta, only just starting with the App.
I've joined BETA & updated but still no camera feed.
This was already corrected in the 3.2.0 release. If you are still having issues, it might be something listed here:
