Also, does Dronelink need to remain connected to the controller after a mission has been started? The answer is yes as DJI have opted to use VSC rather than uploading missions to onboard memory

Yeah the altitude is the altitude of the drone when it takes the photo, what would be handy with this would be an indication of the direction the drone is facing

confirmed, also since trying this in the web app, I can no longer do any editing in the native app, as when I select edit I just get a spinning circle

The red eye as you call it is the final point of the mapping component, and if you want to edit it have you clicked on the padlock symbol to unlock it
