Dan, When I select "Download for off-line mission" the maps and mission are downloaded to my iPad that does not have a connection while flying. Works without issue.

Jim, I like that WP approach; still might want to have the ability to raise the focus on even the simple Orbit .

I believe all location information is derived from the Drone's GPS. A compass provides "bearing" or directional information not a location.
