Can't connect Mavic Pro
Hello, I'm trying to use Dronelink for the first time, but i can't get it to connect to my Mavic Pro. I was using DJI Go 4 which i have uninstalled in case it was conflicting, and also reinstalled Dronelink but it still won't connect. Any suggestions?

Does DJI Go 4 work?
Have you already gone through everything on this list:
https://support.dronelink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052025194-Why-is-Dronelink-unable-to-connect-to-my-drone-
Yes DJI Go 4 works fine.
Yes I have been through that list, my phone is running Android 11.0 and the Dronelink app is 3.3.1.
Jim McAndrew or any other staff have any further suggestions on this, otherwise I will have to request a refund which is a pity as it looks like a really nice platform to use. Thanks

Given that you are on Android, the most likely scenario is that you have set up the DJI app to be the USB connection. If you hit "always" when installing the DJI app (and it is easy to do that without thinking) then the DJI app, and ONLY the DJI app, will be granted USB access to the controller.
When you plug in the USB controller to your phone, does it ask which app you want to use with the USB device? If not...then that is what has happened and you will need to undo that before the Dronelink app can access the controller.
How you do that is a bit different on each phone so you might need to do a bit of googling.
Thanks Barry, yes as per my first comment I completely uninstalled DJI for that reason. I also selected Dronelink to "always" when I plugged that in, but it didn't start the app nor when I logged in to Dronelink did it connect.

What Android device are you using?
Also, I wouldn't uninstall the DJI app. Just don't make it the only one that can use the device. There are still things you will need that app for.
It sounds like you didn't grant all permissions when you installed Dronelink (item 4 here).
Thanks Barry, that's useful to know. Device is Samsung S20FE
Jim McAndrew all permissions were granted, I reinstalled it to make sure
I have played around with this for a few more hours and tried all sorts of different start up combinations but no luck. I reinstalled the app again. All permissions granted. Looking at other threads on here it seems like Android 11 should work perfectly so I'm at a loss to know what to do next.
Sorry to hear that.
Do you have another device you can try it on - e.g. borrow a device from your wife/child to test things out on something starting from scratch?
My wife has an S20FE as well so I don't think that will help, and my 3 year old doesn't have a phone yet :)
I have decided to trial Litchi, and it connected immediately with no hassle. So I will continue to use that until I find a need to come back to Dronelink, I notice some people use both. How do I go about getting a refund?
Travis - your wife's phone might be worth trying. Install the DJI app and the Dronelink app, pay very careful attention to any permissions it asks at the time of installation and make sure you grant them all as I strongly suspect that this is where the problem lies.
I have an S21 Ultra and it works great on that.
Sorry - saw your note about Litchi after my previous reply and, if that is working, then it has to be the permissions you have granted the app.
Litchi is great software - but it's a bit like comparing a bicycle to car in terms of functionality. But, depending on your needs, it could be all that you need.
I think to get a refund you just email suppoert@dronelink.com - I could be wrong.

As I said, I installed it again yesterday for the third time, and paid very careful attention to allowing all permissions. After it was installed, I then went to app settings to double check, and it said "No permissions have been denied." I also turned off the button that said "Remove permissions if the app hasn't been used for a while" in case that was interfering. So I don't know how it can be granted any more permissions??
Turns out Litchi doesn't do mapping missions yet which is my main use for it :( so will persevere with this a bit longer.
Interested that you use an S21, do you use the bottom or side USB port? I've tried the bottom port a few times but no response, so have been mainly using the side one
Screenshot of permissions
The other thing I have wondered about is the USB actions, I have been through all of these and tried them, maybe it is different on your phone
Yes, just to confirm it is device specific.
You have to physically unplug the side cable to get the bottom port to recognize anything.
Do you mean on the controller?
I always use the bottom usb port and I use the side port to charge the controller if I'm running out if juice.
Yes the controller. And yes have only tried it with side cable unplugged.
I have just tried installing it on my wife's phone, and still nothing
Have you tried a different cable, or tried the cable in all possible orientations
Thanks, yes have tried a couple of cables
Some cables only work in some directions
