Will Dronelink work with DJI Mini 2 Firmware 01.03.0000? Firmware 01.04.0000 has Bugs
New to Dronelink. Happy IOS is out of Beta. After a couple weeks of due diligence, Dronelink rose to the top. I haven't purchased it yet due to the issue below. The release note below says I have to update to the latest version of Mini 2 Firmware which is 01.04.0000. The Mavic Pilots forum members are saying this update is causing Mini 2's to crash, losing connection, flyaways, etc..
Well known members are saying, after contacting DJI, there is no way to revert back to version 01.03.0000. So basically firmware 01.04.0000 is turning the Mini 2 into a paperweight...for most. To be honest some Mini 2 owners have indicated that they have had no issues with the FW 04 update...but a greater number have said it has major issues and that DJI is not addressing with their new focus on the Mini 3's release.
I can't take a chance and will stay with FW 01.03.0000. The FW 04 release was mainly just to prevent well known hacks...no bug fixes to my knowledge after research.
1) Can I use with my 01.03.0000 firmware without issues? If so, I will purchase Growth Package. I want to start a small niche business with my Part 107 certification & Mini 2. I hope you will tell me what I want to hear. ;>) I searched for this issue before posting.
2) Are there any significant limitations for the Mini 2 or can I take full advantage of all the functions and features of Dronelink. The release note below seems to only address a limitation with Air 2S.

DL doesn’t specify what firmware version you need to use so it should not matter if you use that version. There are others in this forum using M2 and I’ve heard no issues.
The only limitations are with the model drone you use and which plan you purchase. DL can perform so many different functions I doubt most ever use it to its full potential.
Just.my thoughts but don’t always believe what you read on DJI forums. It’s been a month since that release and I haven’t read about thousands of pilots claiming their drone crashed. I’ve had my MA2 for about 1-1/2 years and I heard pilots say the newer released firmware for my drone caused the the drone to crash or fly away. There are always a few who don’t take responsibility for their mistakes. The mass majority of crashes or fly aways are pilot error. Yes, there can be some small issues with updates but DJI test the firmware prior to the release and they would not send it out if it was crashing drones. Amazing app. Good luck.
I was out flying my mini 2 with dronelink for the first time today and using the latest firmware (01.04.0000) without any problems, I think the main problem is some folk don't like the fact that you can no longer roll the firmware back or hack it
Agree. Most the complaints are about DJI and their control. 🤨

Good idea. A ton of info to look over and DL has so much it takes time to learn. Enjoy.
Lots of very handy info in the youtube videos, like yourself Gordon L Campbell, I've only just got dronelink, so am in the early learning stages.
What I found helped me is watch the videos, plan some short missions based at my local park, run the missions several times in the simulator, making tweaks as i go, before going and flying them, video of my first flight can be found here
Don't forget if you get the Elite package you can import your litchi missions
