DJI Dronelink App Satellite Acquisition v DJI Fly App

Brad Bortz

For some unknown reason, Satellite acquisition using the Dronelink App won’t even allow me to take off. However, everything is fine when using the DJI Fly App. Flying a Mini3Pro, using a Samsung S21. It worked fine 6 months ago. Haven’t used it in a while. Everything has been updated to latest versions. Thoughts?

UPDATE: I deleted and reinstalled the Dronelink App and now my drone won’t even connect with the app!!!!🤬

    Check 2 things:

    1. That you've force closed the pesky dji fly app
    2. That you're using Dronelink DJI, and not just the normal Dronelink

If not connecting then it’s more than likely one or more of the issues described in the support link. https://support.dronelink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052025194-Why-is-Dronelink-unable-to-connect-to-my-drone

The amount of Satellites and how they acquire/ lock on to the drone is the same regardless of which app since it’s the drone which uses GNSS for positioning, not any app. Make sure you go through each possible issue one at a time in the link. I’ve seen many times over the years pilots believe they have done everything correctly and eventually they find something they missed.
