M300 beta

Michael Daverington
1: Missions take to long to upload, drone gets airborne then wastes more time uploading, upload should happen on the ground so you don't waste battery. 2: Had complete telemetry loss. Couldn't be restored, initiated RTH, it was at night and drone returned in darkness, no lights. 3: Had numerous drone off track failures, I believe might have has something to do with height, low rolling terrain and a little wind about 5ms. 4: Had weird gimbal control, while mission set to -60 forward, some times Camera would look backwards. Another time was looking to the side, at this time I could change gimbal manually. 5: On android 32 bit had no gimbal degrees readout and yes on 3.1.

Missions take to long to upload

Dronelink doesn't actually upload the mission to the M300, it uses virtual stick. Having said that, others have requested that Dronelink perform its pre-calculations on the ground so as to not waste battery. The original intent of this feature was that it could be doing the pre-calculations while the onboard flight controller was performing the automated takeoff, and thus save time on site. In the end, when you are using a very low performance device with presumably large missions, it results in the behavior you saw. Do you have a modern iPad you can try this with? Your experience will be much better as we have put much more effort into the iOS beta for the M300 at this time.

Had complete telemetry loss...Couldn't be restored, initiated RTH

Was the drone still connected? Dronelink doesn't have much control over whether the RC maintains connection with the drone, and due to the afore mentioned virtual stick approach, the connection fail-safe setting applies.

Had numerous drone off track failures

Most likely due to the low performance of the SC. Again, please try it on a modern iPad for best experience right now.

    had no gimbal degrees readout

    Again, iOS.

    Hello Jim,

You mean that DJI M300 and Dronelink can now be used with an Ipad? That is new to me but good news.

Yes, in fact we don't support using the M300 with the Smart Controller because the device performance is too bad.

Check. Good news. I tried Android tablets but was not very satisfied with the results. I will test now with the IPad (latest version).

We don't support external Android tablets for the M300 either.

Wow - I hadn't checked this in a while, but great news about the m300.

Are there instructions anywhere that I've missed, or do I just plug a USB-A cable into the top of the M300 controller and the the other end into my phone and launch DL?
