Well that is rather subjective, Ingram what do you call a small tablet, and what do you call affordable, I'm guessing you'll be using an RC-N1 controller, for most tablets you'll need an extender to fit them, I use one of these LYONGTECH 4.7-12.9 Inch RC-N1... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B096DQFZB6?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I myself fly using a galaxy tab 9 fe, which is 12.4 inches, I wouldn't go below 8 inches and would stick to Samsung

The problem with buying a low cost budget device is you may encounter performance issues. The performance benchmarks list that Tab A9 low in processing power. It may work but you won’t know until you start using it. I’d invest a good amount more. Something to think about.
