Orbit hyperlapse over 6 flights
As part of a 3 month construction progress project, I need to create a simple 80m radius orbit hyperlapse that is split into 6 orbit segments. Each segment will be flown every 2 weeks taking about 300 images. The final video, after all 6 flights will be edited together into a 1 minute video.
I've created a 60 degree orbit segment with a suitable speed and copied it 5 times, editing each copy so the start point matches the end point of the previous 60 degree orbit segment. So I end up with 6 missions that form a complete 360 orbit that can be flown every 2 weeks.
A couple of questions:
- I've aligned the start point with the end point of the previous 60 degree orbit segment by eye. Is there a way to know the endpoint lat/lon so I can manually enter it as the start point of the next orbit segment?
- Is there an easier way to do this that I've missed?
- Is this even sensible?
Thanks
Dave

This playlist covers orbit end to end. There are a number of things in there that might help.

Also look at my other video showing planning modes. Dev mode might give you the coordinates you are looking for. I can't check at the moment as I'm traveling and internet is intermittent.

I couldn't find the the orbit segment endpoint coords displayed anywhere, so I exported the .kmz and plugged the last <Placemark> values into the start of the next segment in Dronelink
As a check, I did the same on segment 5 and the endpoint matches exactly with the start point of the first segment. Bingo!
Thanks for all the suggestions and if there's any easier way, do let me know.

When you run the mission preview and slide the timeline to the end point of the Orbit or any spot during any plan it will indicate the coordinates at that location at the top of the virtual view screen. Also can click on the end point which should be a red dot which should show the coordinates. You may need to be in Expert mode and also select advanced at the bottom of card to expand the information. If the Orbits ate that close on top of each other and hard to know which one then you can select which Orbit by clicking on the little eye icon on the top right side card which will then turn red and only show that specific component. Maybe that will help in the future. Enjoy.
Thanks for the info. Unfortunately that will only work when I'm on site. Using the exported kmz file allows me to forward plan and after a local flight test yesterday, it's works really well. I'm a long time Litchi user for planning complex flights, but Dronelink has really impressed me with the control I now have over forward planning. And, of course, Litchi is more limited on what drones I can use, and this project needs a Mini 3.
