Best Practice for mapping in terrain with "mountain walls" on the side?
I want to map part of a valley. The valley is like 150 meters wide and on both sides the mountain has a steep incline.
I flew the area manually with a DJI Mini, but now I want to map it more thoroughly with a DJI Mavic 2 Pro.
During the dronelink flight the obstacle recognition is switched off, right? So how do I know that the map would not guide the drone against the mountain "walls"? To my knowledge the altitude points available are usually 30 meters apart - that gives lots of possibilities to make the map automatically, but then still fly into a mountain "wall".
I do not have AGL or Terrain Follow (there is no internet in that valley anyway).
(1) Looking at the drone while flying and stopping it as soon as it is too close to the mountain wall: Because of the vegetation and gray rocks this is really hard to see. You can also not just stand "near the walls" because of the messy ground.
(2) I thought I could load the map in the dronelink app, then fly manually with obstacle recognition and slowly to the edges of the map to see if I am clear enough from the mountain walls.
I don't have much flying time up there (because of the battery of the controller :-) ) and no internet to look up things quickly.
Are there any useful hints? Thank you!

Try using the 3D view and virtual drone. You can also run it on Google Earth. A lot of DL help articles and tutorial videos available.

I forgot to comment on the Obstacle Avoidance question. The OA works the same as when using the DJI App so set it in that app first and it will work. All settings stick across apps so all the drones settings will work the same as when using the DJI App.
