Fly outside with the DJI RC Pro without Internet connection?

Ruggero Aebi

I have a question about using Dronelink with the DJI RC Pro Controller. If I create a WEB mission at home and then want to fly it outside with the RC controller, is it possible without an internet connection?
As far as I know, I can only connect to the Internet with the RC Pro Controller via WLAN. How does this work with the RC Pro Controller without an Internet connection outside? So how can I fly my saved missions? Hmm... I'm curious
Thank you very much for your feedback!

Hi Ruggero Aebi. Any device you use whether an Android or IOS device has the ability to download for off-line in the DL Native app. Once they are downloaded which takes literally a couple seconds no service of any kind is needed. This can be done while you have WiFi service without connecting the drone as it is just downloading the plan into the DL app. Then just load any of the plans you downloaded and fly as usual. The only possible issue with a WiFi only device is the map may not be fully cached. If this happens you can use Hotspot from another device and then load the DL app which will then cache the map. Once cached you don’t even need to stay connected through Hotspot. Enjoy…

So with the DJI RC Pro controller in particular, is it absolutely necessary to download every mission before the flight? Is that correct?

I know the ability to download for offline mission.

However when no network is present, I cannot connect to my DL account. No possibility to lunch the offline plan.

    What do I forget ?

Yes, exactly! I have the same problem.
When I try to open the app, the blue circle always turns with a black screen. What should I do?

That’s always the case when using DL. You need service to use the Web app and to download for off-line in the Native app. DL can’t do anything about the lack of service a pilot has.

Here is another DL article but it’s the basic same process. It’s so easy.ll

OK Mike, but if I can access my account, I can access my plan too.

It is either both, or none.

This is the situation I face in reality.

stéphane GARNIER, while you are somewhere that you've got connection, download the appropriate mission to the device you're going to be flying with, then once out in the field, if you have no connection it will still work as the mission will just load from the device
