RC pro controller with Mvic mini 3 pro

Hello,

I would like to have confirmation that if I use this remote control with a mavic mini 3Pro, I will have a good result.

On the dronelink website, the application is no longer in beta mode with this remote control.

Is the application stable??

Thanks in advance

Here is the link for the remote control in question: RC pro

If it wasn't stable, Dronelink would not have bought it out of beta

It’s a really nice controller but very expensive of course. If you use the RC-N1 you can use any size screen you want and it will be much easier to use the Web app especially when your on location and needing to edit a plan. Larger screens are what I have used for about 3-1/2 years and I could not go back to a small screen. I know Martin uses a large screen Android device and I use a iPad 11 Pro. Just something to consider especially for that much money. Always pilots choice but either way the DL app is worth every cent. Good luck.

Yeah I run a Samsung tab 7FE, which has a nice 12.4 inch screen as my go to device

I use the RC Pro with my M3E and an iPad with the Air 2S.

It's not conclusive but I seem to get a smoother flight using the RC Pro.  The screen is small but nice and bright so I can still see it on sunny days, which is not always easy with the iPad.

Thank you all for taking the time to respond to my message, it is much appreciated.

Indeed the remote control is very expensive. The reason why I want to use RC pro is that we use the drone with our students in forestry technology. We often need a good long-distance connection, but above all that the dronelink application is stable. It would be a shame to lose our mavic mini 3 pro in the forest due to a software bug.

I already have an RC N1 controller, but I don't have an android phone that works well with the version compatible with the DJI mini 3 pro.

If there is anyone using the RC N1 with the mini 3 pro and having good results I am interested. We do 2D orthomosaics and 3D point clouds with our drone.

The RC pro seems an expensive solution, but it seems reliable with the mavic mini 3 pro and probably the range of the controller is better than the RC N1. In the forest, having a reliable connection is an asset, especially with students who are less skilled with the drone.

Once again, thank you to those who took some time to answer my questions.

Département Foresterie, merci pour le retour.

Non, c´etait simplement pour avoir un peu de contexte sur ce type d´activité (Foresterie), notamment vis-à-vis des drones.

Je me dis que cela doit se pratiquer en France aussi.

The Beta version is close a production release as Jim recently mentioned in the link. It has been stable and the mass majority are using the RC-N1 controller with a device. As stated in their help article DL says to use a modern device which has been released within a year maybe two. I’d suggest investing in a top brand and not a cheap one if you do want to use the RC-N1 controller. The newer Samsung devices have some of the highest benchmarks along with a few others. As far as the range they are not much different overall as either one can stay connected far further then you can see. The RC-N1 controller works a bit differently since it has a directional antenna system whereas the controllers with the plastic flip up Antennas are Omnidirectional. Other then that you should not have any issues with connections with either one so it comes dues to pilots choice. Unless there is significant interference in a specific area either one will be more than capable. I’ve never had any disconnect with my RC-N1 while keeping VLOS in over 3 years. Their transmission strength along with the Ocusync is amazing. Good luck.

I did forget to responded to your one concern about “It would be a shame to lose our mavic mini 3 pro in the forest due to a software bug.”

In the last 3 years using DL I have not seen any bug or issue of any kind using the Beta versions which I have exclusively used for about two of those years which caused a fly away, crash or even a disconnect due to the DL app. If it does disconnect then the drones firmware takes over and will RTH just as when using the DJI App based on what you have the RTH altitude set to. I know many pilots think any Beta software is not safe but all the Beta means with DL is it has newer features to test before it’s released into production. It is the same app so there is really no more risk. DL stands behind their product and if any issue happens which causes damage to your drone due to their app they will take responsibility. Maybe this will help you feel more confident in the app. Teach well….
