I have a Premium account which clearly says it’s for Phantoms and yet when I attempted to fly a mission today the app said I needed to upgrade because I have a Phantom 4 Pro v2.0. WTH?
I think you'll find that particular Drone is only covered with the elite and up plans

For Phantom 4 it is better to use DJI Pilot. It's free mapping app original.

DJI Pilot does not work with the P4 range...except for the P4 RTK. The app that came with the standard P4s is DJI Go4, which doesn't do mapping.
You might be able to still use the DJI GSPro app, which does do mapping. But, you can't use that if you have upgraded a P4P V2 to allow RID, and DJI are phasing it out anyway so I would not expect it to be supported much longer.

I'm sorry but you're wrong.
I use P4P with DJI PILOT, when you open the APP it gives a warning but it works great and recognizes P4P.
I attach photos.
DL with the Phantoms doesn't work very well, the paths are not just linear, it happened to me and other users with DL.
I love DL, I have more than 1000 minutes with Air 2 and Air 2s, but I don't like it with P4P

Fair enough. I was going by what it says on the DJI website.
I've run many hundreds of missions with a P4P and DL and never had a problem. However...P4Ps are known to have a compass issue that occurs over time. They fly, but drift around. I have had to replace the compass on 3 different units. Check this by hovering in place for a while or flying slowly and see if it slowly turns. YMMV.
Yes, in the description there is only P4P RTK but when you connect to DJI Pilot I recognize the P4P very well and work all the options. With DJI Pilot no drifting problem I had on DL. With DL as written in another creator post the P4 has problems due to the old RCs. If those who created the program say it, I trust them.
PS. I took the photo on my tablet, perfectly recognize the model and camera. What you notice just read DJI forum. bye
Thanks for the replies. I could have sworn when I looked it showed P4P under Elite but now I see it does not.
I did noticed the drone drifting a bit once yesterday in normal flight using the Go4 app not DL, but we had 25mph winds so chalked it up to that.
I'll look into DJI Pilot.
I also can fly an Air 2s and it works well with DL, but I use the P4P for mapping because of it's mechanical shutter.
Non è necessario un otturatore meccanico. Basta usare 1/1000 anche con Air 2 o Air 2s. Faccio voli a 36 km/h senza problemi.
I map quite happily using mini2 with everything on auto quite happily so A2S should have no problem
You can use camera in manual but you cannot fly fast. I mapped 300 hectares at 36kmh and 100m altitude with photos without movement. if you use automatic use shutter speed too low to go fast.
With the mechanical shutter I can fly faster without the jelly effect and get more accurate maps.
if you use shutter at 1/1000 there is no blurred photo problems. with any drone. I tested the yield is the same between Air2 and Phantom 4.
In theory 1/1000 of a second sounds fast and for the most part I agree with you Luko, but when I compare photos, even when the drone is stationary, I can see a difference in sharpness around the edges, and that's where it's doing the stitching.

the Phantom 4 is an excellent drone but has now been surpassed in performance by the Mavic series.
I tried the P4P for this job because it had a mechanical shutter. But for me it wasn't an advantage. With DL it had drift problems and photo location problems.
Using DJI PILOT no, but I had problems with autofocus when I changed the battery.
All known issues.
If you want to be on the safe side, use AIR2s with DL, the camera is very similar (20mpx - 1" sensor) it only lacks a mechanical shutter.
You can use a shutter from 1/1000 to 1/500 depending on speed without having movement problems.
Greetings.
Thanks, Luko. I definitely prefer flying the Air 2s.
