DL 3d review often crashes

Armands Zarins

DL keeps saying Ooops! all time and goes out when the 3d review is launched. This happens when switching from a small screen to a full screen and vice versa. I work with an iPad 9th gen and the OS version is 16.7. it's maddening...

    Might try this: https://support.dronelink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360035213633-Why-does-the-3D-view-say-ArcGIS-failed-to-load-in-the-web-app-

I updated iOS to the new 17.0.1 but a behavior is the same or worse.. Sometimes DL just freezes and I have to restart the program. There is also the idea that the iPad lacks RAM. I press the buttons more slowly, but the result is the same -> OOOpppsss!..

Which browser ? Try clearing all the browsing history and cache. That iPad should have no issues with the A13 chip.

There will be two small videos.
After updating iOS to 17.01, the 3d review does not open at all and program freezes.

I deleted the DL and installed a new one. The situation improved. The 3D view worked now, but when i changing the windows from full to small and vice versa, the problem remained the same. Oops, it looks like something went wrong!..

Ok. Did you clear everything out ? Also which browser ? I’m having no issues with iPad 11 Pro and iPad Mini 5 and it has the A12 chip. Even my old iPhone 8 Plus which is over six years old is working.

I checked everything I taught, I'm not a big spec in this field, but I should note that when the 3D view is being shown, the Google map is loaded on top of Mapbox map. There is an overlap between the two maps.

DL doesn’t use Google Maps so not sure what you mean. Please advise Which browser your using. I’d recommend using Firefox since it works the best compared to the others. Go into the settings then data management and delete all the browsing history and cache.

Just thought of something. Are you using a web browser or the “mission planner” within the DL native app. Since you said you deleted and reinstalled the DL native app I’m guessing you’re using the Mission Planner which is built into the app. The mission planner within the DL app should be using Safari since it’s an IOS device. If so then you will need to go into the iPads settings and select Safari the go down to clear history and website data. I’d suggest using a web browser like Firefox instead as I mentioned and see if it is working. I have rarely used the built in mission planner but I just tried with my iPad and everything is working. It must be something with the settings or the history and cache. Hope this helps.

Mike (Arizona Wyldwest) , from reading this I'm assuming that Armands Zarins is accessing the 3D review via the menu in the app shown in the attached screenshot that takes you to 3D review without going via the mission planner, I've tried it on my Galaxy Fold Z4 and it works fine, however i have no device to check it on iOS

Yeah. It’s confusing so hopefully they will clarify. Either either way it all works on my iPad and even old iPhone 8. I’ve tried every way to see if any issues when running the missions, viewing in 3D, reducing and enlarging screen with a browser and with the DL app. All good.

Thanks guys. I'm busy right now. A little later I will send a video that will help you understand the problem.

Hi Armands Zarins, he re's a video of me using the 3D preview on my LG V50

    --Edit--

Just a quick thought, if we are like I assume talking about the 3D preview in the app rather than web app, where did you source it?

Regardless of how you access the 3D view as Martins video shows it works the same. It just opens the mission planner to go into 3D view so no difference. As I stated it all works on three different IOS devices in any way I try it. It must be a browser setting and/ or issue so I’d still suggest deleting everything out from the Safari app first as I mentioned above. Other than that I’d still suggest using the Firefox browser. The mission planner within the app is good but much easier with a Web browser and I can switch between tabs to other websites, forums etc. Once you send a screen recording we see what your issue looks like.

    Hello.
I made a small video where you can see a big mess... The buttons don't work, two maps load on top of each other (one of them is Google's Mr. Mike). Trying to use the 3d preview from the program itself, it doesn't work at all (at the end of video).

My default browser is Safari. Cache cleared.

The 3D view is powered by Esri, but can you try tapping the eye icon in the top right to hide it to see if that suits you better? Otherwise consider previewing on a larger screen.

As I have mentioned before use Firefox browser. You don’t need to use the mission planner to create plans and this way you can use the Firefox browser with any device or PC without running the DL native app. Don’t know why that is happening with that iPad but as stated it works without any issues on three of my different IOS devices. Save yourself the headaches and download Firefox browser and try. Also that Google Earth icon is for downloading the KMZ file to run on the Google Earth app or PC software. It’s not Google maps which I now understand what you were saying about it being over the top of mission. It’s just the download button on the mission previewer. I say Firefox and be done with it.

Yep firefox or any of its forks such as Waterfox, I use Firefox mobile on my LG V50 (phone that I used for the screen recording I posted), Galaxy tab 7 FE (my default flying device), and my Galaxy Fold Z4.

I then use Waterfox on both my desktop (planning on a 34" Ultrawide monitor is a wonderful experience), and my laptop
