why does point of interest change with length of mission?
When creating a waypoint mission which basically creates a spiral orbit and trying to create a point of interest on an item the POI changes as the mission progresses. About every half rotation I have to create another POI to keep it on subject. I read the hyperlapse post and when flying there was almost no wind and I do not think I went over 900 feet away. This is being observed in the mission preview. I stopped entering new POIs about halfway through the mission (P.O.I. 3) just to see what happens and it drastically off the POI I will try an actual flight since the bad weather has gone out to sea.

Bob, can you share the mission
Sounds like it may be an interpolation issue but hard to tell. The POI will only stay constant if there are no other functions/ commands which could change the heading, gimbal, POI etc, somewhere else along the path. Best way to maintain the POI from the start of it and continue to where you want it to stop without any other command changing it is to just add one more marker on the path farther along it and add existing POI to it. Other then that please share as Martin stated.
uezo9qfivhttp://uezo9qfivoRAtFGM3ddV oRAtFGM3ddV. Is this what you want? I changed the plan a little, I made another orbit of 3 circles and the second one stays right on target. On the first orbit I stopped adding Waypoints at around Waypoint H. As you can see the drone goes way off the focus point. If I did not add the additional waypoints it would have gone off a lot sooner. I am going to create P.O.I. 4 and take out all but the original waypoint and see what happens. Did I share correctly?
I re-did the POIs and the first orbit goes way off.
Try posting the link to the mission again - it looks like you made a mistake when pasting it
Hey Bob. I accessed some of your public plans and believe I found the correct P.O.I. 4 in the Backyard Repo folder. I changed it to maybe what you’re looking for but let us know. If that is the plan then I believe some issues may have been the POI’s, interpolation and shape of the path curves. I got rid of several none functioning markers and added a couple waypoints and changed it to Rounded Corners instead of Bezier Curves but still functions the way I believe you wanted it. This way I could make the path much more rounded out in areas and I believe looks smoother and won’t give as much zoom in and out effect when the path gets closer and farther away. Got rid of the POI “C” and just added POI “A” to now marker 10 so it stays on A until then and gets to the start of interpolation to POI “B”. I also changed all the 0.00 mph markers to .5 mph since the drone needs to be always moving on the path it may possibly fail when actually running it. I believe I read about this issue at least once when someone set to zero mph and had problems. It only changed the mission estimate time from about 14 to 13 minutes. To me the mission preview looks good and I even ran it on Google Earth and looks good. Hope this helps Bob. Enjoy.
