Fixed position TimeLapse Photos

Bryn

I want to fly to a fixed position repeatedly (once a week) and take 10-15 minutes of photos at 2s intervals using the Air 2s

Whats the simples way to do this?

If I fly it manually once including the photo capture and then export that flight from Airdata and import into Dronelink via https://www.litchiutilities.com/airData.php will it remember the gimbal angles as well the flight loation ?

Or is there an easier way?

Thanks

    There's an easier way

    using the mission planner:

    1. set up a blank plan
    2. Add a photo component
    3. Add a point of interest  to the photo
    4. Add a hover and set the duration to what you want
    5. Add automatic capture to the hover

Here's an example plan set up like this, feel free to copy it and use it where you like

    Thanks Martin Reading

Ive changed that to my location (nearly had it set to take off in HIgh Wycombe and fly to Sussex......)

What time interval will the photos be taken at ? I would like 2s

    Thanks

Would this work Martin Reading for setting camera to take jpeg/raw with 2s intervals ?

The default interval is 2s at jpeg only, you could add a command before everything to set it jpeg/raw, but you'd also have to add an interval command set to about 4 seconds to give the SD card time to weave both the jpeg and raw

Just looked at your plan and you'd need to change the interval, but should work

Just wanted to add a few things which should help for future missions. On your plan you have a lot of issues which are noted at the top the card with a grey triangle. Always take a look to make sure none of the warnings will affect your mission. Some are warnings and it may fly but could cause it to not work correctly. Some will indicate the triangle with a red circle which tells you it’s an error and the mission will always fail so keep an eye on that. When it comes to camera settings, I’d suggest always setting the camera at very beginning of plan (top of card) to always make sure it’s set properly before any upcoming component. Whether shooting photos or video the camera needs to be set prior to any start capture. If you set the camera after a component then it may not be implemented until after the component is completed. In that case the drone will use whatever camera settings you used in the DJI or DL App the last time you set them. All the settings stick across apps.

One last thing. The drone can only perform a function which it is capable of same as with the DJI App. So intervals can only be at 2, 3, 5, 7, 10 and so on as indicated in the drones specs. You can try 3 secs and see if it works with a good quality SD card which should be V30 rated and the device can process it fast enough as well. If it has an issue at 3 secs intervals then you will need to set to 5 secs since it can’t do 4. Shooting in both JPEG+RAW as Martin mentioned takes more time to process so you will need to set accordingly. The processing speed of the device and the speed rating of the SD card can make the difference.  Many pilots here to help so ask and someone will assist. Good luck.

Easy to sort out Bryn just add a stop capture command and move it up to under the photo, then a camera mode command and move it up so it's under the stop capture you just added, then set the interval to 5 seconds, here you go, this version is still in sussex...lol

Just looking at your West Pier one in Brighton. I remember watching that burn when it happend as I live in Brighton centre at the time

The way missions are set up dont seem the most intuitive in Dronelink.

So if I read that one right it will be flying from Path 1 to Path 3 videoing the pier and then from path 3 to 4 it will video the 360 building?

    Nearly right?!

    Cheers

Yep that about sums it up Bryn, noting that as it moves between 2 and 3 it slowly pans anti clockwise round to the 360 building, then as it crosses across the front of 360, the gimbal slowly rises, so as to pan up the 360 building from the base to the top.

After you've used Dronelink for a while you'll soon get used to the fact that most recent missions and repositories appear at the top of the list, however you can always search, either everything from here, or if you click on the repository icon, select the repository you want from there, you can then search the selected repository

I generally have different repositories for different areas of the country, some public others private

Any queries you've got just ask

Martin Reading Some of those missions you have are nuts.  Must admit dont really get the path actions and how you set all the path actions but at this point I dont think I need to anyway so will try and resist getting lost down that rabbit hole ;)

    Maybe as I progress.

Thanks for all your help and I will no doubt be back at some point

Bryn, path actions are great and easy to use, the most commonly used one being POI, a good resource for learning stuff is Barry Houldsworth 5 minute Friday Playlist on youtube https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLK_joCFfIhJ8Tvsk51zHJWDtVnJ7S0Vln

Have a read here about what you can do with the Waypoint component &  path actions etc https://support.dronelink.com/hc/en-us/articles/6278084109331
