what well working Android device to buy??

Tim Legler

Hi there!
I purchased the dronelink app a few days ago.

I purchased an Android device because the SDK doesn' support IOS.

I bought a Xiaomi11 lite 5-g and it keeps crashing after a few seconds of waypoint mission.

It would be very helpful to have a list with devices that do not work/probably work in the future/work very well!

I now bought a device that can be send back for about 14 days. In case dronelink will never support my Xiaomi device I can't neither send it back nor use it and thatfor have an expensive brick of rubbish that I will never use in my life.

BR,
Tim

PS. ther are a few devices that will probably never work and that are already mentioned. How do you know that these devices will not work?

In my respect I will mark the version somehow as beta version and add my device Mini 3 Pro as well, so that you will always be able to filter the list.

One of the main things is know which MSDK  is being used hence why I put the drone model in MSDK 4 (pre mini 3 drones) is pretty darn stable on the majority of modern android devices, the instability comes in with MSDK 5 (at the moment), due to that MSDK being written for an earlier (outdated) version of Android, which DJI are going to rectify in the near future

Yes, I am aware of that.

My old Mavic Pro never had a single problem with 3rd party waypoint missions - used Litchi on IOS...

From what I read above, I got the impression that it is not yet time to buy an Android device and dronelink if you wish to use MSDK 5, e.g. with a DJI Mini 3.

Please provide more detailed advice if I am wrong and some particular Android device has been successfully tested.

I was thinking about a difference between european and american mini 3 pro drones- the very much higher signal strength of the fcc-version in comparison to the eu-version.

as the signal strength needs to be very good for virtual stick control, i was wondering if there was a connection in terms of the stability/quality of the app.

Tim Legler. The transmission signal between the drone and controller is the same as with DJI app. DL does not change how it connects and works so if it gets a low signal it would do the same regardless of which app. I believe that’s what you where asking.

I got the OnePlus Nord N200 since I saw it was on the google chart. I found that It works well running the Dronelink app with my mini 3. It was not very expense and I just use the hotspot from my iPhone to give it internet while flying.  I have had no app crashing or freezing. In other functions the phone seems slow but I am only using it to fly the drone and the DJI fly app and Dronelink app are the only things installed on it.

Learned a lot from this dialogue after buying Dronelink professional. My mini 4 pro wasn’t working with iPhone 14.
I will purchase either controller pro or a recommended android
