Android device for mini 3

Hi, could you suggest some Android devices that are known to work well with dronelink and DJI Mini 3? I need to buy one (I have iPhones and iPads), either a large-screen phone or a tablet.

And what is your experience with the DJI RC Pro controller? Better and more stable of an Android phone, or aout the same? If I have to buy an expensive phone, the RC Pro controller could be a reasonable oprion.

From what I read in the thread linked above, I got the impression that it is not yet time to buy an Android device and dronelink if you wish to use MSDK 5, e.g. with a DJI Mini 3.

Please provide more detailed advice if I am wrong and some particular Android device has been successfully tested.

The Mini 3 + RCN1 is still in beta, so yes, unless you are wanting to be part of the testing effort, I wouldn't recommend joining the beta. Having said that, DJI did just release an update that supposedly fixes the stability issues, which is in beta 266: https://support.dronelink.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/16409496589331/comments/18692974599187

Thanks very much for being transparent on this issue! I develop some software myself and I completely understand your difficulties.

That said, have you tried using the DJI RC Pro controller - the one that generally comes with Enterprise drones - with the Mini 3? We also have a Mavic 3 Enterprise and we can try.

Jim, that’s excellent news! I did not know DJI updated the MSDK and Dronelink updated its beta!

Thanks everyone for sharing your working devices!!

I’m going to give the FIRE HD10 tablet another try.. hopefully it works well as it’s a fairly cheap tablet and I’m guessing most people searching for android devices are coming from IOS and need something cheap!
