Starting Firefox

All

I am really sorry but after hours of surfing (and even asking ChatGPT), I need help.

I am using a Mini Pro 3 with the RC Pro with built-in screen.

I would love to join the beta but in all the installation instructors it is mentioned that I need to start Firefox (which obviously makes sense). How the ..... do I get there. I am unable to get to any type of Android home screen. I guess I once landed on the Google Play store and could install Firefox but how do I get to the installed app afterwards.

Would it make more sense to buy a used RC-N1 for Dronelink?

Thank you and sorry for the neebie question
Roger

Maybe these articles will help. Do not download from Google Play store as explained. Must download the APK  directly.

    Hi Mike,

thank you. I saw these two but both tell me to download the APK and sideload it. The problem I have is that I cannot download it as I cannot get to Firefox.

I don’t use any DJI controllers with screens so I’m not sure how they actually work. However, I’m guessing you can download Firefox browser on it. Then use it and go to the help article and download the APK from that link. Don’t they work the same on those controllers ?

The problem is that it is a locked-down Android and I did not figure out how to get into the Android itself

Do you have the DJI RC or the DJI RC Pro? It sounds like you are trying to use the RC Pro directions on the RC, which doesn't work because the RC does not (natively) support installing any apps other than Fly. However, it is possible to install APKs with a tool called ADB, Android Debug Bridge (but whether the app will run properly is another question).

but whether the app will run properly is another question

When we tested it, the device wouldn't even show up in the list of adb devices, and even if it did, the MSDK specifically does not support it.

In other words: I better make sure I have an RC-N1 for the use with Dronelink, correct?

As far as I’m understanding it, if you have the Mini 3 “Pro” and the RC Pro it should work. It states in the link the RC Pro only works with the Mini 3 Pro. Seems like it should.

So, you were right: I have RC and not the RC Pro

The RC Pro is very expensive. The RC-N1 controller which was first released with the MA2 which I have is a very good controller. It has a long battery life, approx 6 hours, you can use with any device like a Android tablet or iPad with other drones. They can hold any large screen device with a small extender up to about a 13” screen. In my opinion it gives the pilot a much better flying experience and so much easier to see everything. You can find them everywhere and I bought an extra one when I saw it brand new on eBay for $75. Good luck Roger.

Totally agree with this Its the standard controller for my mini2, I normally have a samsung galaxy tab 7FE mounted on mine, that's a 12.4 inch tablet

Thank you all. I found one and will order it.

What is interesting is, that I did not find it in any store. But you can still buy it in the bundle with the Mini 3
