Adding additional photo locations to existing photo missions

Glyn Barrett

Hi,

I am doing some progress reporting for a client and have a mission setup to take the same 10 photos from various locations.  As the location is being developed, the 10 photos will likely increase by 1 or 2 each visit.

So once ive finished flying the auto mission to generate the photos i will probably frame and take 1 or 2 additional photos before i land.

Can I use on the fly to do this whilst still in the air, thereby logging the drones position and gimbal angle so i can take the same photo next month?  Also, can i copy a photo location from an on-the-fly photos and drop it into my existing photo mission, building this up over time?

    thanks for the response.

i figured you could probably do that with the on the fly missions.  i could really do with adding the locations to my existing mission so i dont end up having to fly loads of mini missions of 1 or 2 photos.  there seems to be the option of copying a component from one mission to another but not fixing the location (that i can see).  so i can copy and paste a photo, but have to place it on the map manually.  i was hoping i could pull a photo location across intact but im not seeing how

Maybe this will help. There are Several ways to copy, duplicate or move a plan or component. You can move any of them to another location. You can select a component like the photo one you have and copy to clipboard. Then add it front the clipboard to your already existing one at the location you want. You can also just duplicate that photo component in your existing plan and then move that photo component to a different spot in that plan. You can duplicate it as many times as you want. Others way depending on what will work for your situation but this may help. Enjoy.

    Thanks

Is there a way to copy a photo position from one mission to another whilst preserving its parameters (I e. Drone location and what it's looking at). When I currently copy and paste I get the option to paste the photo anywhere in the world. That's not what I need. I would like to be able to take a photo position from an on the fly mission and add it to the existing mission so this builds up over time. But the photo needs to be in the same place looking at the same thing so it's repeatable.

Think i have a workaround for this in case anyone else comes up against it.

fly an "on the fly" photo mission and frame each of the photos you want to add to your primary mission.

open up the on they fly mission and copy:

co-ordinates and height to ensure the drone gets to the right spot in 3d space.

gimbal pitch and heading to ensure the drone is looking at the right bit of the world.

do this for each of the new photos

create a new photo in the primary mission and input the four bits of data above, plus any other parameters (AEB, RAW+JPG etc), then the drone should be able to take the same photo again the next time you go out.
