Dynamic Gimbal Pitch to Flight Path
Hi Guys,
Was looking to see if there is a dynamic gimbal pitch to flight path function available. For example, in a mapping mission set to AGL if the gimbal could be set to 90 degrees against the elevation angle of the flight path. So if the flight path begins a rising in altitude at of say 45 degree angle, the gimbal would also angle to 90 degrees against the 45 incline. Effectively this is trying to keep the gimbal at a planar angle to the surface in focus and thereby cutting the distance of the capture.

if i'm reading you right that would mean the gimbal would have to be at -135 (-90+ a further -45 to compensate for the 45 flight angle), and as far as I know the majority of drones the gimbal doesn't' go beyond -90
What I’m understanding is you want it to being pointing straight down at the ground just as flying over flat terrain. If the Angle of the ground is rising up at 45° you would want the gimbal to roll upward to 45° so it’s pointing straight down to the ground. I believe the max limit depending on the drone is 20° to 24° upward so you’re stuck with that limit. If going downward on a 45° hill there is nothing you can do except have it at max of 90°. Unless someone else has another way to make it work. Hope I’m understand the question correctly. Good luck.
@Mike (Arizona Wyldwest) Yeah, I guess I didn't quite describe it properly, but the baseline idea is that with AGL, the gimbal reads in the elevation keeps a relative angle to ground. You'd have to set the drone to always fly north to the path (effectively flying backwards going down an inclined plane.
