Glitch with Modern UI

Tony Simek

Hoping for some product assistance here.  I ran this mission and attempted several engagements with the modern UI.  Each time, the drone departed, but the video froze and mission map was not updated.  Attempting to regain control of the drone by changing flight modes did not work, and the app went non-responsive.   (I ultimately exited Dronelink, went back to Go4 and brought the drone back in both times.)

Without changing anything on the mission, I did an abort and reload and flew using the legacy interface which it did just fine.  Tried this one enough that I think the new UI just did not like this mission.  App got sluggish.

Just advising so you can look at the telemetry and if needed, let me know how I can help troubleshoot so this doesn't happen in the future using the new UI.

Hi Tony Simek, one thing I instantly noticed which might "possibly" be causing a problem is you're flying this mission with the heights set to AGL and you haven't got a restriction set for the take off location, try turning that on in the plan settings and see what happens.

Good point Martin, I will give that a try and see if it makes a difference!

    I just ran this whole mission on a Pixel 6 without any issues (Octa-core (2x2.80 GHz Cortex-X1 & 2x2.25 GHz Cortex-A76 & 4x1.80 GHz Cortex-A55).

The modern dashboard is definitely more demanding than the classic dashboard from a performance standpoint. We left the classic dashboard as an option for cases like this, and we even default to the classic dashboard for legacy devices, such as the smart controller.

We always try to improve the performance of DL over time, but sometimes new features require more horsepower, so you may want to consider upgrading to a newer chipset.

I was thinking the same thing Jim.  I use a Tripltek Android tablet to run my DL missions because it is bright, great battery etc, but these Chinese tablets are underpowered I believe.  I will start hunting for a better equipped tablet on the CPU side, but really need one that can handle the heat and provide brightness as well.

Thank you for the review of the mission.  The way it bogged down I thought it may be CPU related.
