What drone, what phone/tablet, drone firmware up to date with no hacks installed, how many satellites are showing, knowing all this will hopefully help to solve your problem, I've always found it to work well
I use a mavic mini 1 on a Samsung galaxy s 21 with everything up to date. I have a FCC hack on the drone which is supposed to make have a better range but also means its "relocating my country". It could be the problem but I have the same localisation isssue even when the drone is not connected... Thank you for the quick answer
Well in my opinion, until you remove the hack and update to the latest firmware there isn't a lot we can do, as the software is designed to be used with up to date firmware.
I have the latest firmware but I admit I have to test to remove the hack to see if it is the problem even of it would be weird as tue hack is on the drone itself. Thank you
If the App is indicating it’s that far away it’s more then likely you don’t have location access enabled for the app. Check your device settings for the DL app and enable “location access”
Thank you for that input but I already check that and its using my precise position. Actually the position of my phone is correct o the dronelink app but the position where the drone is supposed to be next is wrong. The actual drone position is good...
A bit confusing. “The position where the drone is supposed to be next is wrong, The actual drone position is good” .
That screenshot I sent is for The Dronelink app setting which needs to be allowed, If the drones location in the DL app is way, way off then it sounds like the location is not enabled. Maybe try to clear up what your asking.
Yeah like mike I don't understand, can you post a screenshot of what you're seeing in Dronelink when this happening
If all set up correctly and none of this will work then I’d remove the hack. When changing, (hacking) the firmware there is no guarantee that any app will work correctly. It may work fine but maybe not. Just better to use the correct and up to date firmware directly from DJI and see if that’s the issues. Good luck.
I just removed the hack but it didn't change anything. I also tried to install it on my old phone and I have the same issue. It's really weird
You've removed the hack but have you updated the drone and controller firmware, also check the phones have location permission allowed for dronelink
If the drone location is showing up off the coast of africa (lat/lon 0,0), then it means for some reason the DJI SDK is not reporting the location of the drone to DL. Not sure what your hack was, or if uninstalling was successful, but DL definitely does not support hacks.
Thank you guys for your very quick support even I hacked my drone!
It seems that my position is somewhere off the coast of Africa yes. I used the FFC permanent hack. Basically I plugged the RC controller to my computer with a RJ 45 cable and went into Telnet to change the disabled country. I probably can't come back and it's not a very big deal as I could make it work with other apps. I hope this topic can help somone else with same trouble :)
