That’s the entire purpose of the mapping component. It would not be useful if it didn’t take a series of photos while flying the plan. Depending on your mapping needs there are several different plans which can perform different functions while mapping. Hobbyist Elite plan for grid mapping if using for recreational use only. If for commercial use you will need a business plan.

Thanks Martin and Mike. Yeah, it's obvious but I thought I'd check first when I saw the Photo Type (an advanced feature) configuration drop down showing 'Single'.
Understood Corey. It takes a single photo but based on the capture interval time you set below. Also if wanting to shoot in JPEG+ RAW just realize you may need to adjust the interval time higher to allow more time for the Raw photos to process between each shot. If JPEG only then every two seconds should be fine. A good amount of pilots on here which can help with you creating 2D imagery. Good luck.
