what is the latest build number

Pretty much as the title, I'm having a job keeping tabs on what the latest build number is, I think I'm on 214, however when I check on the version it shows as 213, and if I check in apps in android settings it just shows it as 4.0.0

It depends on the platform and where you installed it from:

    1. iOS: Check TestFlight
    2. Android: Check the Google Play Store (or download the APK again if you installed the APK directly)

My fear is that many are lost with all these versions : beta, not beta, app mobile, desktop, etc etc.
My android DL is saying 4.0.0 (214).

The production native app automatically notifies users when a new version is available with a banner at the top, and it never requires normal users to understand the build number because the only thing that matters for production is the version (x.x.x). The web app also automatically notifies users when a new version is available and getting it is as easy as clicking the refresh button on the notification or simply reloading the page in the browser. Summary: production version upgrades on both native and web are basically handled auto-magically and require very little thought.

As for the beta, the build number does matter because there will be many beta releases with the same version number but different build numbers. As far as beta users getting lost, all I can say is understanding the differences is part of the extra level of knowledge and attention to detail required to effectively participate. If this is too much, then you should probably consider leaving the beta.

My IOS TestFlight app is set up to notify me and indicates the versions and builds with any changes or added functions. I just use the newest release available and try to run a plan or two to test if I can. Latest for my device is 4.0.0 (214) 🤙🏼

I;ve normally been downloading straight from the DL website via this link https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KuTtpVSDYLHbf2IrDlVuTMqv3A92kp9h/view?usp=sharing when I;ve people talking about a later build than I've got installed as its normally quicker than waiting for google ok a new build.

So below are a series of screenshots I've just created to demonstrate why I( asked the question in the first place:

Shows the installed version of the build

Shows installing after asked if i want to update

Shows exactly same version after update.

So after this I uninstalled and installed from scratch using the same download from the DL website:

Asks if i want to install

    Shows installing

    Accepting permissions

And still showing same version started out with (4.0.0 (2213) ) and not the latest (214) which i now know from checking on one of my other devices is the version on google play store, so it seems that either:

    1. The version on DL web site hasn't been updated
    2. for some reason when downloading and installing that version, the version label doesn't get updated properly

The same thing happened to me, I uninstalled the application on android and in the play store installed the beta application and there I already installed the 214.

Sometimes we don't upload every beta APK to google drive, so in general it is better to get builds through Google Play.

Cheers Jim McAndrew, but doesn't that sort of contradict what you said to me here?

So best to stick with google play?

DL is doing a great job pumping out builds quickly to get the new DL “2.0” fully functional. I haven’t been able to use all of the newest 4.0.0 builds but most of them and no issues flying missions. I know it’s a work in progress and looks like the majority of functions are working now.

Only obvious function I cannot set is the video FR and Resolution. Seems like all other camera settings are able to be manually set. I use auto commands on almost all my plans but on occasion I want to set manually and change if needed during flight. Patiently waiting. 🤙🏼
