Camera mode failed

Martin Reading Dronelink Expert Dronelink Expert

This originally happened to me the other day when flying this mission, so i thought I would check it out again when i wasn't in such a rush, the mission is shown here https://dronelink-225116--beta-xctf3fho.web.app/martin-reading/mission/wpWLAipxBUPXjHIVIPJq the camera mode fails at waypoint C on the first waypoint component, up until waypoint C the drone has been on video auto capture, at checkpoint C I placed this list component https://app.dronelink.com/martin-reading/beta-4/component/Fav5t2t0zjQuJX9XyTQx and its something in this (I suspect stop capture) that is failing, the same list works fine at both waypoints D & G

The first link doesn't work for me.

    Other thoughts.

    • Does the drone support RAW photos?  Not all of them do.
    • If the previous component used auto-capture it probably stopped capture at the end of that component.  So, when you execute stop capture again, with it set to required, I could see that failing.  Maybe just remove the required setting on that part and see if it works?

Hi Barry Houldsworth, yeah raw is supported, it#s a mini 2, sorry about the bad link, missions is obviously private, yeah that thought about the auto capture already stopping had crossed my mind, i'll take it out the list just on that waypoint and see what happens

Just uncheck the required button - no need to remove it completely

Martin,  not sure it is the same as you but ...

During my last pano with mini 2, only SINGLE mode was working. I tested other modes (raw, aeb, high resolution, ...), each time and error was raised, except for single.

Ok Stephane, I'll check those out and see what happens, I did get a pano on the end of this

Not all drones support all modes.

Ok played around with this again today, I had 2 versions of the mission i was using, one with stop capture not required, and one with it removed, the one with it not required still showed the message

And the one that had it removed wouldn't proceed any further, so i ended up aborting it

I tried making various edits out in the field and finally came to the conclusion that dronelink didn't like the way I'd put the mission together' so i replaced each of the list components, with a photo component

Stéphane. Some thoughts to consider. I’d check the Specs for the Mini 2. It indicates it can shoot AEB however it may be the more time needed to shoot them and I don’t know if the Pano plan is set up to do that. I’ve not used the Pano so maybe check to see if anything can be changed to make AEB work. Mini 2 cannot shoot High Resolution photos so that’s the issue there. If shooting with Raw photos it takes more time to process so maybe that’s also the issue using the Pano component. The drone can only perform the same capabilities as in the DJI app. Hope this helps. Good luck.

    Mini 2 Photo Specs.

    • Single Shot
      Interval: JPEG: 2/3/5/7/10/15/20/30/60 s
      JPEG+RAW: 5/7/10/15/20/30/60 s
Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB): 3 bracketed frames at 2/3 EV Bias
      Panorama: Sphere, 180°, and Wide-angle

    Thanks Mike,

From my experience I was not able to select jpeg+raw from DL menu. I will check again later.

What I did was to set jpeg+raw from dji fly, an then run the pano from DL.

It worked. I mean 27 photos (jpeg+raw) were available.

However I noticed that jpeg+raw = 24 Mo per photo when flying with dji fly, and 18 Mo per photo when flying with DL.

stéphane GARNIER, I was having trouble finding it, but if you tap bottom right where it tells you which format you've got selected, another menu pops up where you make your selection

Correct. It can be set manually in DL. I almost always use cameras commands from my Repo lists I created and place them quickly in my plan where I need them. This way my old brain won’t need to remember to set ISO, Shutter, White Balance, Resolution & fps, format, etc, every time I run mission. Otherwise I’ve wasted time and got videos or photos which are not correct and would need to be re-run because I forgot to check and change the settings. My motto is, Let DL do all the work for you.

Im guessing DJI takes a different amount due to the way it automatically process the Pano. More photos usually means more overlap. As long as it’s working. 🤙🏼
