Offline mapping flight doesn't show basemap nor camera view

Joan

Hi there,

I'm wondering if anyone is having similar issue.

I saved a few mission to process offline and it can start the mapping mission, but didn't show the basemap nor preview the camera. I'm using a DJI mini2 with an elite level account. I went through the support forum and didn't see anyone with similar issue. Here is a screenshot attached. I didn't get any error messages either.

Appreciate any help here.

Some things to consider. If using an Android OS device did you grant all permissions when installing ? There are a lot of them and they need to be gone through one by one and allowed. Also try a different Cable/ cord.

Check this link for possible issues.

    Hi Mike,

Thank you for your reply. I am using IOS, and all the permission is allowed. Plus drone link did connected to my drone (it showed the battery info, image mode, SD card etc) and can also fly as planned, but it was just not showing the camera live streaming and the base map.

I tried again today using same cable, same device, same drone and it worked without any issue.

The only difference was that I was testing out the offline mode in a place that I do have signals but using flight mode on my phone today, and last time I was at a place completely without reception. So I'm still not sure what the problem could be.

I will see if I can replace the issue sometime in the future and keep it posted here. I do hope it might just be a little glitch on my phone. Meanwhile, would like to know if anyone experienced anything similar.

    Cheers

This Has not been an issue overall. A couple things to consider. Even though you did download the plan for off-line use, the map still needs to be loaded with Either Wi-Fi or cellular service. It does not download the map, just the plan. I fly mine in a very rural area all the time with my iPad Mini Wi-Fi only. I open DL prior to leaving home and let the map load. However, when I get to location it doesn’t always fully keep map cached. I use Hotspot with my iPhone and once the map is fully loaded I shut it off since it isn’t needed for the flight.

The issue regarding no camera feed. I always let the DJI Fly app start up fully and let the satellites connect. While waiting I check many of the settings especially the RTH altitude, disconnect state to RTH and other settings to ensure everything is correct and check camera feed. All the settings stick across apps so whatever settings you have in the DJI app will be what DL app uses. It only takes a couple minutes and you need satellites to use anyway. Once it’s ready force close DJI app and open DL. Camera feed has always worked doing it this way for 1-1/2 years using DL. Just some suggestions and should solve your issues. Hope this helps. Enjoy.

Thx for the tips. The place I've been to hotspot is also not an option. even though I can sort of estimate the position of the drone, having a basemap there is just a lot more comforting.

As for the live feed, the force close DJI app might have been something I forgot. I've done mapping without shutting down the app before and it worked and that probably made me lazy about doing that.

Just curious, what's the mechanism here that I will have to force close DJI app
