Gimbal Orientation

Ben Zismann

I've got a Mavic Mini 2 and I'm just learning Dronelink.  I'm putting together a basic flight down a street and I want to pitch the gimbal down about 20°.  When I set it up prior to Waypoints, it dips on takeoff and then returns to 0°.  I've also tried it by creating a couple waypoints, insert a gimbal orientation, add some more waypoints.  Regardless of what I try, the gimbal orientation only lasts about half a second and then returns to 0.  What am I missing?

    Brian,

I looked at your plan.  I am no expert, but I think you want to set your gimbal orientation here where I circled in your plan.

You have gimbal orientation as a mission component.  You need to add markers along the path and add the gimbal orientation to the marker.  It will remain at that pitch until you change it with a new marker.

With Donelink almost everything is controlled with markers.

There are a lot of videos to watch so you'll need to figure out which videos are relevant your needs.

Just start with simple plans and add changes as you can.

It looks like what used to be called markers are now called "path action n", each with the next number sequence.

couple of ways you can do it:

The way that Tony Simek describes above

    or

Having removed the gimbal orientation command from the plan you linked, just click on waypoint A, scroll down to gimbal orientation, hit the + sign and enter it as -20 in the gimbal pitch field and then it flies a treat as can be seen here:

Thanks for the feedback, all.  At first, I thought I must have a different level of access (Hobbyist Elite) than you because this is all I get.

However, a quick check of the setup and I discovered that I was in "Normal" mode.  Switch to "Expert" and now I can make the changes.  I hadn't been on Dronelink in about a month and I knew that there was an update - it must have set this back.

Thanks again for all the suggestions.

The beauty of that setting is it calls over to all devices, so change it in the web app, and it will change in the native app as well
