New UI Question
Using expert mode, when I choose a checkpoint, it appears that I no longer have the option to chose automatic capture. I used to like to do this between steps to capture clips with a minium of commands needed. For example I would choose video or photos. Where did this go? How can I quickly add these to the specific checkpoints I create? Ideally this is still able to be done without needing more commands.

Can you share a plan so we can see exactly what you mean
Sure. https://app.dronelink.com/southwestern-aerial-studios/tsimek-public/plan/9w4A3Coxmi6oLWjhy4Q7
There are only two components. In the past, these had the ability to select automatic capture. Sometimes I would choose photos, and sometimes video..now that option is gone.
We decided to remove the automatic capture option from Checkpoint (previously Destination) because too many people were adding conflicting configurations when the Checkpoint was the approach for another component (Waypoints, Orbit, etc). The new recommendation is to use a Waypoints component with two waypoints instead of using Checkpoints (Checkpoint is now seen as an expert only component type that should only be used directly as a last resort).
Totally understood. I had built some great (in my opinion) plans that concisely used this feature.
For example, I would go to a destination, pan gimbal down, and take a photo. Then descend to next destination which was just a copy of the previous one, complete with all settings, and same lat/long location, choose automatic capture for video, descend 100 feet, and then take pictures. I would do this three or four times on way down to ground. It made for a bunch of nice videos and photos at various altitudes while descending that I could work into my video projects. Now it seems I have to use waypoints, but I cannot specific lat/long it appears on the checkpoints within a waypoint? This is perhaps the only thing I am truly missing during the migration to the new interface.
The advantage of the way I used the command was that I could go to one point on a property and get a bunch of nice descent videos, and photos all on one descent, and saved a lot of time and precious battery, but still gave me lots of raw material for video production.
Here is another plan where I made extensive use of that feature.

I suppose we could re-enable it in Jim mode...
Love it! I assume that Jim mode means the user had better be smart enough to not cause themselves more trouble than it is worth? : )
I would really appreciate it if possible. I am enjoying finding some new ways to accomplish this but they all have some unwanted behavior. If you are so willing to re-enable, I hereby certify I am responsible for my own outcomes. : )
Tony Simek, Jim mode is really good, read it as expert with a few more tweaks here and there
I understand most new users have difficulties understanding camera commands and mess things up. Seems like it’s one of the biggest problems so not a bad idea to limit the mistakes. For me even as a simple man and the others above whom are much smarter then me, I like everything available. 🤙🏼
Agreed @Arizona Wyldwest!
Jim McAndrew - Is this something that can be done? I would really appreciate the ability to still have access to this type of mission component/command to make my shot possible? How does one access the "Jim" mode?
It will be in the next version. You click the version number in the main menu 7 times for Jim mode...
Thank you! You put the awesome in Dronelink!!!
