Joined up, been using the beta web app for planning for sometime, now got the beta native app installed
Hi Martin,
Can you confirm that version 3.3.2 (198) ! Kernel 3.3.1 corresponds to Android Beta native App ?
The beta is 3.4.0
Yes, just got it now. Thx.
Surprised to not see much overall feedback. I figured I’d give my thoughts and opinions overall after about a week or so of using and testing.
Beta Web app version 3.4.0 | Kernel 3.4.0.
Beta Native app version 3.4.0 (201) Kernel 3.4.0
About 1-1/2 years using DL. I was told my vote of confidence on the new 2.0 version was appreciated but I have kinda drank the DL Kool-Aid. Apparently my opinion doesn’t mean much. Ha Ha, that was a joke for Jim, lol….. Anyway, I figured I’d give my feedback on why I like the new DL “2.0” version. Most people don’t like change and It took a week or so to start to being more comfortable using this version. These observations are based on when using my iPad Mini. The way it displays some things can be different than with a small device like my iPhone due to the size of screen.
List of Likes:
1. The ability to lock or unlock the plan so you don’t accidentally move something then constantly needing to click undo to fix when I zoom in. Especially since I use my iPad about 99% of the time due to my PC not not being powerful enough and very slow.
2. When selecting a Path Action (Marker) easy to see many of the options like speed, altitude, heading and even more options easily available. Very convenient and I think quicker to edit or add something then previous way.
3. The ability to easily click on the 3D view icon instead of needing to open the Native app and view it there.
4. One click to edit the plan name which includes all the other settings like take-off restriction, action on finish, motion parameters etc, all in one spot. Don’t need to separately go into the settings.
5. + Add takes you to components, commands and advanced settings which you can scroll down into with more selections. Also the + Add in bottom right of screen.
6. Altitude visibility on map at each waypoint and ability to change it. If using AGL which I use a good amount of the time it will indicate the altitude whether increasing or decreasing to or from an AGL marker/ Path Action to each waypoint.
7. Hover for a specific amount of time. This is new and different then disengage which pauses mission.
8. When dragging a waypoint to change the path it shows a shadowed white line where it was so you can reference the new placement to see how much change there is.
9. Verification mission previewer. Just like when actually flying a mission verification with the Native app which keeps the drone heading forward on a path. Great for making sure nothing is in the drones path before flying actual mission.
10. Pano mission component
Other things I’m still getting used to but for now I think this list indicates many of the changes, additions which I have observed and are fairly common.
List of dislikes: Not big issues.
1. Tiny green dot under the Waypoint Start Pin (destination) and blue colored pin instead of the green pin as in previous version. Maybe a bigger Green dot under it or different color waypoint pin as before.
2. The Layers Icon is now in settings, (extra steep.) Not a big deal but the old way at top gives quicker access. I change layers very often.
Overall observations and opinion.
Mikey likes it….. Lol.
Hope this feedback helps. Keep up the good work.
I share Mike's opinion!!!
What I would like them to add is that they add coordinates to the map where one passes the cursor in the lower area of the map, just like Google earth does.
