DJI Mini 2 - RTH (long press) nothing happens

Philipp

Because I didn't find any solutions. This post. Sorry if if missed it.

Problem: First planed fly today. Pause the mission with RTH/Pause button works fine. But I could not get the drone coming home with holing long the button (only for test purposal this time). Additional I can not find the settings for how to handle signal lost and rth altitude.

Please help me to use the app safeful. Else I want my cash back 🙈

For 99$ I expected a lot more/additional functions. What I get is other functions, some of the stock app one are missing app.

How close were you to the home point? DJI has a "feature" that disables the RTH functionality if you are too close to the home point already (DL has no control over this).

First let me thank for your response.

Not far approx 5m-10m. But I will do next days some evaluation tests. But same distance worked with DJI Fly app.

That make it necessary to modify/proper plan the "mission". In offline mode is it not possible to change "on spot".

If I remember rightly, minimum rth distance is 20m

Yes, it auto lands if within 20m for the Mini’s, 5m for MA2. Not sure why DJI sets them differently and it doesn’t make any sense.

It happens nothing when I long press the RTH key on the remote control. Without some kind of beep sounds.

Do you know what the actual distance was from take off location ? Feet or meters ?

As Jim stated: How close were you to the home point? DJI has a "feature" that disables the RTH functionality if you are too close to the home point already (DL has no control over this).

This means it will not RTH if too close. Either pause and then manually fly back to home-point or fly a bit farther away then hit RTH. Remember when it goes into RTH it will either ascend up depending on the drones altitude or just return back at the current altitude. There are several ways it will react depending on distance and altitude.
