Connecting Issues for DJI Air 2S

Darren

Hi Dronelink team,

I’m a new user trying to fly my first mission and can’t get Dronelink to hold a connection.

Setup

  • Drone: DJI Air 2S, aircraft firmware up to date (according to DJI Fly)
  • Controller: DJI RC Pro, firmware 03.02.0900
  • Dronelink on the RC Pro: version 5.4.0 (2333), Kernel 5.3.1. Installed from dronelink.com/download as app-arm64-v8a-prod-release.apk
  • Account: Darren Friedman (darren@360photoshoots.com)

What happens

  1. I power on the controller, then the drone, and open Dronelink.
  2. Dronelink shows “DJI activation not supported”, then “Ready to go”.
  3. A few seconds later it shows “Disconnected” and “Home location not set”, and it keeps cycling between connected and disconnected.

While Dronelink was open in the background, DJI Fly showed the same connect/disconnect loop. When I force-closed Dronelink, DJI Fly connected straight away and stayed stable with 25 satellites. So the drone and controller link is fine, and the problem appears only when Dronelink is running.

Questions

  1. For the Air 2S + RC Pro, is the build above the right one, or should I be using “Dronelink DJI”? Your forum has conflicting answers.
  2. What does “DJI activation not supported” mean here, and how do I fix it? Does activation need internet or a DJI account login?
  3. Is there anything else needed to run Dronelink on the RC Pro with the Air 2S?

I can send screenshots or logs if you tell me where to find them.

Thanks,
Darren Friedman

Have you tried force closing dji fly(you really don't need to open it in the first place)
