Sorry to hear that you are having issues David. A few comments:
Thanks Jim. A couple of weeks ago, there was no problem & I mapped a large (long) area successfully. More recently, in the last couple of days, the app has thrown up a number of issues, as mentioned. I have set a simple new mission off the map template & will try again tomorrow. Because the drone is working great with the other apps I have, I suspect it comes down to the phone or the app. Has any report problems been presented with using the iPhone 8 so far. For me, I will try some more testing.
If you are referring to the gimbal errors, you should try the 3.3.2 beta and see if they go away (as discussed here).
Can you share the map plan which had problems. I have a iPhone 8 Plus which I only use as a backup if needed. It has worked fine but I rarely run maps and would like to see what your map plan was and test it with mine. Just curious. I can create a map and test but that won’t be the same as a plan which you had issues with. It’s up to you. Good luck ….
Today's report is that I deleted all mission plans and started off with a clean slate. I made a new plan on pc via template which runs for about 3-4 mins for same location as previous. Went out there & it worked as advertised, shall I say perfect. No interruptions or moments of high stress.
So I'm thinking it could be a phone memory problem if I have a number of mission plans up. I will try again by editing the successful plan only to RTH and eliminate the variables causing my nightmares. Thanks to Jim & Mike
Sounds good. I have a lot of plans and no issues. Very curious. A suggestion would be to first make sure all apps on iPhone are force closed. Then shut down phone just prior to use and turn back on. Whether my iPad or iPhone I always make sure it’s freshly started up and Nothing was or is running in background. Can’t hurt and it may help.
Hi Mike, I only use the iPhone to run the app with the drone, so fresh start every time & nothing running in background. I'm an android user & waiting for the android version so I can run my M3, (all work related).
How do you mean you're waiting for android version, I've Dronelink installed on 2 Android phones and an android tablet
Understood David. M3 will be quite awhile. Unfortunately DJI seems to really drag out the SDK over the last year. 😤
It seems that I have found the solution for my configuration. Mission today worked successfully. Shall I say again - perfect. Tomorrow will try an extended area to put the matter to rest. The iPhone 8 is still in the game along with the MA2. The more I use Dronelink, the better I feel about the $100 cost 😱
Good to hear. My iPhone 8 has worked flawlessly for me when I use used it. I may try running one of my larger and more resource intense plans which I’ve ran on my iPad just to see what happens. DL has so many functions it will take time to learn all it can do. Enjoy David.
