IPad Mini 5 or 6 gen or better works great. The 8th gen iPad should have the same A12 chip as the Mini 5 and should work great.

Which Drone, actual device Model and what Dronelink App version are you using ?

I was trying to an app call test flight I thought was the beta version of drone link but I guest not.  I then tried a couple of time on an older android Samsung tablet where it would start the flight then stop because device was to slow or something like that.  Anyway, this getting to be a total pain.

I tried my mini 2 and air 2s.  Same result for both.

As indicated by the link above you will need a phone or tablet that as recent as a year or 2.  I use a iPad Mini 5 or my Galaxy S20 now S22 no problem with my M2P, MA2, and MA2S

DL is not a cheap waypoint app. It is am extremely precision and very capable automated flight software app which is capable of performing just about anything you can do when flying manually but much easier, smoother and all with one click. Good luck whatever you decide.

As said above, I can confirm iPad mini 4 does NOT work, sadly.
    Maybe birthday/Christmas this year……

FYI Test Flight is for people that are registered for a couple of flight programs to participate in beta release testing of the programs they own. It is not a stand alone control app.

I will just keep waiting.  I’ve been waiting a while now so longer isn’t going to make any difference.

A question, sot of, on this topic for people who know these things. How, or are they, maps stored in the app? If I have spotty, or no, cellular data access, could this result in this issue? A Gen 8 certainly seems like it should work otherwise. Similarly, is there an option to download maps for the flight area before I leave a working service area?

So, yes you can download missions, and the note indicates you may not see the preview. So this means you will only have camera view, and is that/could be the issue above?
