IOS & Android and Simulator

Christopher Milson

So are we able to use both Android and some days use IOS within the same account with no extra fees? The new support for Mini 2 & Air2S for Android has caught my attention. Also, how accurate are the heights to any obstacles when using the simulator and how often are the maps updated? You can tell by the question that I'm trying to determine if I should rely on the simulator in most cases? Both drones above don't have side sensors so one would have to be sure doing an orbit, for example.

Yes, but be aware that due to DJI's decisions, not all drones are supported on each platform. Our system requirements are always up to date with the latest information.

Do you mean 3D view in the mission previewer? This is powered by ESRI, and it is terrain only - it does not have obstacles such as trees or buildings. You can export the preview to Google Earth, which does have these things, but the accuracy and update frequency of both of these systems may vary and you should consult the documentation of those systems.

if I should rely on the simulator in most cases

I wouldn't rely on it if are are looking for accuracies below 4m. Even if these systems did have that accuracy, you are still limited by the accuracy of the barometric altimeter and gps sensors on the drone, both of which are already +/- 4m. If you want precision you have to upgrade to a drone with RTK.

Dronelink has a verification mission feature built-in to the native app which will automatically plan a new mission with the same flight path but with the drone facing forward. Just click the more menu (...) on any mission plan.

If I have any doubts I always use the verification feature and have my finger paused over the mode switch button to stop the mission should anything look even slightly risky.
