mapping and orbit combined, cannot set POI in orbit
I can create an Orbit with a POI outside of the orbit but if I create a mapping mission and add an Orbit at end I have no control of the POI, it's always facing towards the center. Is this normal?

Please share the mission plan showing the issue.
https://app.dronelink.com/robert-scheffler/backyard/plan/Kk2k2VcFnv6nNXahyYsd/Kk4KTq8o3Dhf9O2iBhX7. I think you might already have this mission because of a different issue. As you see I set up a POI in the mapping part of mission. I then added the orbit and set up a POI in the orbit. It shows POI B but does not execute. If I create just an orbit https://app.dronelink.com/robert-scheffler/backyard/plan/uVUo1L1tsxeXxMhlPoFp/gztwlqHfVVxbznB0RZVF it performs as expected. I am sure I am probably doing something wrong but I just can't figure it out.
It appears that you didn't add the second point of interest to the Orbit, but instead you added it to the Path. If you right click to add a POI, it should give you the choice:
The path was first and intended. I am pretty sure that is exactly what I did. I created the mapping with a POI, then added the orbit and created another POI. The mission shows the POI but when I run preview the drone flys with the POI in the center. I will check again.
No matter how I do it, whether I assign a point of interest from the orbit or right click and choose new marker, or point of interest or point of interest with marker, I cannot attach it to the orbit, it will attach to the map route. I easily did this when I created just the orbit
I am not sure what you are doing wrong, but here is a copy of your plan with a POI added to the orbit. Works fine for me:

The plans look identical!!! I opened them in separate windows and I see no difference, BUT, when I run yours it works, when I run mine it does not, I am baffled. How do I make your plan mine and then I will see what happens.
Jim I copied your plan and re-named it and it worked fine but I am thoroughly confused why it works. If you copied my plan and I copied your plan what changed? I compared them side by side and I saw no difference between the two, I am going to look again, I must have missed something.
I think I found the issue, when I right clicked on the orbit I picked, "New POI and marker" then moved the inverse tear drop to the POI. This did not work so I tried the other option, "New POI" and I think the inverse tear drops were so close to each other, as well as the markers, that they were indistinguishable. I did not notice it until I zoomed in. The hint was when comparing plans I found that the old plan (Not working one) had 3 POIs over the pond, A, B and C, A & B both had the connecting lines and went back to markers. Your plan was the same except for an extra A with no connecting lines. I figured that when you added that you used the second option to create a POI without marker and moved it to the pond. I copied you and it worked, that is when I found the extra marker for the C POI buried in the other markers. Silly mistake.
I believe I’ve said this before. Sometimes it’s the simplest things. Lol. 👍🏼
