smart return home
Have not seen this issue discussed. I recently flew a mission which I had flown several times with no problem. Now I get this message:
This is only page one of 2 pages, I took a screen shot of page two but it would not open saying that it was in an unsupported format. The second page, I believe, said that the program does not support "Smart Return Home", but I have flown this and other missions with this option chosen. Anybody have an idea of what is going on. I did what it said about re-starting the drone and it worked once but not again after 6 tries.

I figured it out. I had accidently clicked on the smart return home in the drone control options. Once this was rectified mission flew fine.

Yep. That’s the first thing I do is remove the component and see if it runs the mission. If it works then I look into the component which failed and see if I can figure out why and if it can be used in a future mission. I’ve never used that function. I Just either select Return Home or None at end of mission in settings. Many of the features or functions which are listed may not work with a specific drone. Not sure about the Smart Return function or what it does but always works with RTH.

I had created a mission a while back and I just keep tweeking it to do different stuff. I usually choose, in the settings section, "Action on Finish" to Return home. I was playing with different stuff and I went into "Drone Command" and I must have activated the smart Return Home option. I figure one of 2 things, or both, happened. 1} You can't have both checked or 2} The Mavic mini does not recognize this mode.
I shut off the "Return Home" under the "Action on Finish" and turned on the "Smart Return Home" under the "Drone Command" and it flew the whole 13 minute mission until the end when I received the msg. that Smart Return Home failed. So it appears apparent that the Mini is not capable of handling this command.
👍🏼. Never tried with ether of my drones. I am curious what the difference is.
