Connection Issues DJI Fly App on Android Solved

Phil

This is not a question but a workaround I discovered for Android Connect to the DJI Fly app. After many hours of installing and reinstalling the software I still could not connect to the drone using the DJI Fly app on Android. The DJI Fly app would instantly connect to my Iphone but I bought a brand new Oppo phone just so I could use dronelink with my DJI Mini 3. I've used an iPhone for years but I'm a novice with the Android OS.

The Issue

The issue is related to my phone using USB charging off the DJI RC N-1 remote control and not being recognised in either DJI Fly App or Dronelink. USB Debugging needs to be activated.

The Workaround

The workaround is to enable developer mode on your Android device with the below steps.

  1. Go to [System Settings] > [About Mobile Phone].

    2. Tap “Version Number” quickly 7 to 10 times (If the mobile phone has a screen-lock password, please input the correct password in accordance with the system instructions) until the mobile phone displays: “You’re in developer mode!”

    3. Search for “Development” in the [System Settings].

    4. Go to [Developer Options];

5. Slide the view up and down on the page until you see the “USB Debugging” option.

Every time I connect the Remote Control to my android phone now it allows me to select the App that I wish to connect too.

A protracted work around but it may allow a lot more phones to use DroneLink.

    The other option is don't use DJI fly, I've not flown with it for years always use Dronelink to fly with, only time I would connect my mini 2 to it would be to update firmware
