Reflying same mission (unable to call from repository)

Doug Hitchcock

Hi,

May be a newbie question, but I can't find it

If I am in the house and load a mission, I go outside to fly it and it works fine.

But, once the mission is completed, I can't fly it again. The flight disappears from the main screen. If I go to the repository to reload the mission, it doesn't show up on-screen in order to select "start"?

Slightly related question: If I program a bunch of missions at home, how do they get to the tablet if not connected to WiFi? Is there a way to upload missions into the tablet memory if it is "offline" (no WiFi, no cellular data)

    Hi Jim,

    Thank you very much.

Your 2nd answer pretty much covers all my questions.

    • If you have a WiFi tablet without cellular connectivity, you need to follow different steps before you fly
    • Create the mission(s) on your computer and they are saved in your web based account
    • Open the app on the device you plan to use to control the mission (e.g. tablet, smartphone)
    • While connected to WiFi or a working data plan (cellular), pick the mission(s) and then DOWNLOAD them to the tablet/phone.

That way, they can be called back up and re-flown. I'm testing the accuracy of GPS by re-flying the same route several times.

I have NOT used "on-the-fly" creation of a flight plan; only done in advance on big screen monitor especially when close to buildings. But I now understand that any missions created on the tablet "on-the-fly" need to be uploaded to a web browser and your repository for naming and archiving.

I can tell you the GPS is not super accurate. We have seen +/- 4m of drifting, even within a single battery.

    Hi Jim,

Agreed that GPS navigation for a drone isn't highly accurate. Hence don't plan a flight path close to a building/wires, etc.

BUT, it does beg the question.....Can a flight be manually modified in mid-course plan at a given waypoint? I searched for "pausing" a flight to manually take control....but didn't find much on that subject.

I'll leave this comment under "bug reports" alone for now....thx!

We have a way for our enterprise customers to enable such functionality (called drone offsets) but we have not made it available to the regular hobbyist and business users (it is complex and dangerous and needs hand-holding to use properly).
