How to upgrade from Hobby ($20) to Premium ($40)?

Stig Førrisdal

I can not find any upgrade function. Or do I have to start a new Premiun ($40) account?

Yes, it seems that I have purchased the wrong plan.  In all previous advertising it indicates that the $20 plan lets you try mapping, orbital, path and loads of functions.  Now mapping has been taken out of what they are now calling "Basic" rather than "hobbyist"?  There seems to be so many more than the 3 plans they had so it's all a little confusing

As a starting point, check out this FAQ:  https://support.dronelink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360053169634-What-features-are-included-in-the-legacy-Hobbyist-plan-

We'll put out a document or video that better explains the plans soon.   Our goal is to maintain a highly functional $20 plan for users while giving people the ability to access higher end functionality (e.g. Airdata integration, mapping, end eventually the powerful features to come - follow, focus, etc.).    Users who had purchased the $20 plan before the price change will be grandfathered into the $80 elite plan (minus e-mail support)..

Hang tight - we'll get some better information out for new and existing users soon.

I expected to try the mapping but now it’s asking for me to upgrade? I haven’t been able to plan a single flight as expected 🙁 Refund me, grandfather me or offer what’s advertised please so I can either upgrade or make other plans!  My plan, purchased today doesn’t have mapping. « The Hobbyist plan has the same features as the Elite plan » isn’t indicating that right now!

The definitive source of truth on what features are included in each plan is on the feature comparison pages (Hobbyist, Business, etc), sorry if the previous videos caused confusion. We are going to update those to remove the marketing content as it makes transitions like this more complicated for everyone (videos will just be focused on tutorial).

I believe both of you have opened support tickets and have been taken care of at this point.

When did you change the payment plans? I’m afraid I was expecting to get what was available in the previous plan as per your own videos that are still suggesting you can do more than I got.

The plans were introduced just yesterday. Can we keep the discussion to one place? (either the support ticket or here, I am going a little crazy)

Grandfathering was the right thing to do - thanks.

Initially I thought Elite was a separate level rather than a sublevel of "Hobbyist" - good idea.

I bought the Hobbyist 'lifetime' plan and Airdata integration was working. Are you now saying this integration will no longer work next time I fly?

@David, have you seen this? The old 'Hobbyist' plan is now Elite.

Tero, it looks like you have been upgraded but I still log in as hobbyist. I'll give the guys time to sort this out, thanks.

The upgrade price is the difference between the two plans, and should be reflected on the checkout screen.

I believe you already started an email support ticket, so you can reply to that with a screenshot of the pricing page and the check out page. Please make sure you are logged in when you view the pricing page.

Mcmena. I understand that this is an important issue for you, but if you already have aprivate communication channel with DroneLink, I don't see any point filling up this discussion group with this subject any further. I propose that we all keep this channell clean and dedicated to the subject, and any private type of questions to other channels. Cheers!
