Heading control during map component
I'm using a map component to perform a roof inspection, and turned off the option for Automatic Orientation in the Approach panel. Then I inserted a Heading component to set heading to 030 degrees prior to the map. On Mission Preview, the heading is set correctly, but when it flies the grid, the drone's heading stays locked to the flight path.
Is the Automatic Orientation setting not functional? Or am I going about this incorrectly?
My aim is to get the still photos all oriented in the same direction. The roof is visually homogenous, and I'm not sure how well they will stitch together into a single large image, nor am I sure I'll be able to orient them all correctly by hand.
Thank you for any guidance on this.
Jason

That setting applies during the approach only. There is no setting right now in the Map component to do what you want (sounds like a good feature request).
OK thanks for the quick reply. Would you like me to post this in the FR section of the forum?

I just moved the whole thread.
So when inspecting solar panels I need the drone to fly "sideways", so that the long axis of the sensor is parallel to the rows of solar panels.
I think this is essentially the request that has been made above. I just wanted to second it and give another application that needs this.
Of course it would be nice if the XT2 was fully supported as well.
Sensor width 10.88mm
Sensor height 8.704mm
Focal length 13mm
Resolution 640 x 512 pixels
This will be in the next release.
