Copying or sharing plans or components

ian clark

This is doing my head in šŸ˜€

ive searched and gone through tutorials/concepts but still cannot make much sense of the terminology in DL.Ā Intuitive? Not for me, perhaps Iā€™m thick šŸ˜…

Question is please:

Iā€™m slowing building some test flights and now have an elevation changing path across a valley down across fields, woods and back up the other side effectively following AGL heights modified by use of google earth.

Now I want to use the same ā€˜bunch of commandsā€™ (plan/components/lists ?) to run the same flight in a different location but clearly modifying the take off point, elevation markers, route and whatever else is appropriate.

How to select/copy/paste please? Where is the instruction/guide?

(And also relates to how to selecting someone elseā€™s public ā€œ bunch of commandsā€ to eg set up the camera at start of plan or a recent discussion to reset camera and return to home at mission complete)

thanks guys.

Hello. If I drag on the purple plan icon I can move a plan. If I open the Approach component and drag the plan I see the coordinates change. If I try and move the plan by typing in a new coordinate the program freezes and I get a message about a long running script. Wait a bit and then the screen goes white. If I click the reload icon the screen comes back and the original coordinates are showing. I brute force "dragged" the plan about 180 miles; it's only if I try to type in new components that I have a problem.

If you are trying to move the entire plan (not just the approach to the first component, you need to move the reference. You have already seen how to do this by dragging it, but I assume you are wanting to move it to a very distant location. If this is the case, you can either zoom the map out and find it manually, or put an address/keyword in the map search box to automatically find the new location. Then right click and move the reference:

When prompted, say that you also want to move all components:

I am guessing you crashed the web app by typing in a very distance coordinate which caused the plan to think it was hundreds of miles long.

Thank you for the prompt response. I apologize for having to come back a second time, but I have an additional question/clarification. You wrote "do this by dragging it, but I assume you are wanting to move it to a very distant location." I didn't understand the next part. I can locate my new desired location, but I didn't follow if you were stating that there was another way to move other than dragging.

I am just a hobby flier, but I can see this being a great tool; thank you for developing it and allowing hobby use.

Yes, you can move the purple reference marker but just right-clicking the map and then selecting Move Reference.

Thank you. It wasn't sinking in about the second right-click at the destination location.

Hello.Ā  I am new to DL and want to know how I can send a mission that I made on my computer to a friend so he can use it to fly around his lake?Ā  How does he get it into his account?

Thanks for the info.Ā  That helped a lot.Ā  One more question about Orbits.Ā  How do you set up a "Start recording" at the beginning of the orbit and a "Stop recording" at the end.Ā  Every time I try to set it up at the approach I get the dreaded Red Flag telling me that I need to set up a "Stop recording first.Ā  Confusing on where to put these commands.Ā  Thanks
