Air 2s No longer connecting to Dronelink

Daniel Snyder

Well, this is odd.  Up till now I've had easy connectivity between my Air 2s, Samsung S22+ (Android v14) and my RC-N1 controller.  Today I have No Network Connection between the drone and Dronelink.  DJI Fly app connects fine, but DL does not.  I've tried this with 2 different RC-N1 controllers and DL does not allow connection to the Air2S.  I have no Video feed and no connection.    Both RC-N1 controllers work fine with a DJI Mini 3 Pro with Dronelink, just the AIR2s can't connect.  I've tried following the "connection troubleshooting" document and reset everything to factory settings, granted DL all the permissions, etc, still no luck.  DL won't connect to Air2s.  Anyone else reporting this?

Mini 3 uses the Dronelink DJI app, whereas Air2S uses Dronelink - are you using the correct app?

Yes. Drone link app. But oddly enough the Drone link DJI app does produce some video telemetry. But anyway what I've now observed is I have to shut down my phone's Wi-Fi connection in order for Drone link to engage with the controller.

Wondering if it's a phone update issue or if you have heard of this before?

Update on the No Telemetry issues on the Air 2S.  I tried disabling the WiFi on my phone, then rebooting/restarting the Drone and the Controller I also unplugged and reconnected the USB cable between the phone and controller.  I've struggled with this for about a week and that is the only solution that has worked for me to see the video feed in my phone.  I noticed you have another person reporting telemetry issues with the Air 2S so I left him a note to try my work around.

Hi, i am seeing a similar issue with my Air 2S. went to launch dronelink a couple of days ago and it would not connect to my drone.

I have used the without issues in the past. i followed all of the help guidance but it made no difference.

This is quite annoying when you go out with a client and end up looking like a fool.

i tried the workaround suggested by Daniel but it did not work for me.

As a last resort try putting the Phone in airplane mode then disconnecting / reconnecting the USB cable to the Controller.  Then try restarting Dronelink.   Also try a different USB cable.    I can eventually get DL to connect if I do these steps, but yes - something has changed and its trial and error to get it to connect again.  Good luck and let us know if you find a combination that works!

interestingly, i just tried to attempt the last solution from Daniel. this time i connected everything slightly diferantly. I connected the phone to the controller, the n turned the controller on. my phone then asked me what app i wanted to launch (dronelink or dji), selected drone link, turned on the drone and it connected perfectly.

after a little trial and error, if the dji app has been running first then dronelink will not connect with the drone until you reconnect the usbc cable. otherwise if the dronelink is the first one that is launched then it seems to work strait away. cant explain why i could not get this to work a couple of days ago but it seems to be connecting now. i tried for over an hour the other day to battle the issue with no resolve.

at least now i am hopeful it will work when i need to use it next

The DJI app can definitely interfere, as discussed in point 3 here: https://support.dronelink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052025194-Why-is-Dronelink-unable-to-connect-to-my-drone

i followed the steps on the support page to the point i even rebooted my phone to rule out anything stupid interfering. i made sure i closed it properly and force stopped the application on the day it didnt work but still could not get that link between the drone and dronelink to work. i even uninstalled and re-downloaded the drone link app just incase it was not updating properly while i was on site.

as i said, cant explain what the original issue was but it seems to be working now. hopefully this chat will be able to assist others should they run into a similar issue

Disconnect and reConnect the Usb cable between the phone and the controller.  That seems to work.  Sometimes restart the app.

I have been having this problem now for about 3 weeks and been struggling to find the solution. I have not changed anything and have been making maps with Dronelink for about 18 months with my Air 2s and Android Phone. Now suddenly, no location services or connection with Dronelink. I changed cables, devices, locations, etc. I am going to read all of these comments and try these out

The solution that James came up with worked for me as well.  Obviously a bug that should be fixed.  I spent a lot of time with this and I have been grounded for a month.

Just realised I never put this in English.

    1. Connect the phone to the controller.
    2. Turn on the controller.
    3. Turn on the drone.
    4. Make sure the DJI app is not running in the background.
    5. If necessary, disconnect the USB from the phone and reconnect it.

I am glad it was of use Bruce.

I don’t use Android devices just my iPad with my drones but the no live feed issue has been like this for a long time now. All I do is unplug the cable from iPad and immediately plug back in and my live feed works. I’m guessing it’s a similar issue with Android.
