Browser out of date
I cant install apk mirror (to install google play, to install drone link) on my Mavic 2 pro smart controller. When using the pre-installed lightning browser, I get an error message 'browser out of date'

Hi David. DL only fully supports the 4 browsers which is listed at bottom of the help article. Others may work but not fully supported and may have issues. Also you should read about that very old SC which will more than likely give you a bad user experience. My suggestion is to use the standard controller with a modern device as explained in the article. Pilots choice choice but you will save yourself a lot of headaches.

Many thanks Mike. I remember now I had to this previously with another ap. DL has installed fine. Still having problems with Google Play.
Yeah that old controller has a lot of issues. Did you install the APK for Google play services and store only from the DL link. I’d suggest deleting all the other apk’s, version and start from scratch to ensure only those from the DL section are installed correctly. Otherwise it will not work. I know I read somewhere in the forum about using the Firefox browser to get it to either allow, download or install correctly. Good luck.
Yes, I installed DL, Google and Google extensions from links you posted on the DL site onto a microSD card. Google Play is still not connecting with Google servers but the DL app is working with my Mavic2 Pro, I did at quick test flight before it dark here in UK. The only niggle was I am not getting the map inset in the bottom left corner of the screen. Otherwise I am very happy with my purchase. Cheers !
Ok David. Enjoy v
Dronelink should be installed directly (via APK) and not the Google Play store on the Smart Controller. Having said that, you will probably have a horrible user experience running Dronelink on this device.
Hi Jim,
Just flew my first survey. A total of 225 images have been stitched it all together using webODM. The flight/acquisition was so easy. No errors or problems. Only niggle was I couldn't see the map window, only the camera view on the controller
The dashboard map isn't supported on the Smart Controller unfortunately.
Agh - all good then.
