Mini3 incoherent flying "drunk drone"
My Mini3 doesn't follow the grid/lines that it is suppose to, when changing directions it turns around a few times before finding the right direction. The speed is also not even, it sometimes allmost stop before speeding up. I ran same mission wirh Air2s 5 mintues after with no problems. Compass calibrated, lots of satelites. No electromagnetic intereference in the area. Allmost no wind. Mission speed 15 kmh, wind 4ms. High wind tolarance on. Signals from Dronelink to the drone each 0.4s

I’ve seen this a couple times but usually it’s due to interference or needing a calibration of both the compass and the IMU. Since it ran fine 5 minutes later and not repeatable then DL can’t diagnose any issue if they can’t reproduce it. I’ve seen some strange behavior before and sometimes they happen with no rhyme or reason. As I mentioned, if it is repeatable then report back.
Sorry, I forgot to write it (I updated the text now) : Was using Mini3pro with Dronelink DJI, but second time was with Air2 using "normal" Dronelink.
Ok. Can you reproduce it with the Mini 3. If so then report back. I’d do a firmware refresh on both drone and controller first then calibrate both the IMU & Compass. Any Mini drone will struggle in higher winds and the only thing you can do is reduce the max speed to a slower value and try again. Any wind gusts during the flight could cause this. It may not have been the issue but to something to keep in mind. You said you calibrated the compass but not the IMU. My suggestion is to go through all of it to eliminate any of that as the issue. Then report back if it is repeatable otherwise DL won’t be able to reproduce it to find the possible issue. Doesn’t take long to go through it all. If others start reporting this then it’s something DL can look at as well.
Hi,
I experienced simular results several times. Yesterday I made two testflights using Mini3/N1-remote and Huawei P20pro phone. First flight with Dronelink, second with Map Pilot pro. The flight with Map Pilot Pro was normal.
Very possible it’s the device which is considered old at about 6 years old. I’d upgraded to a modern device as explained in the requirements in DL’s help article. The DL app needs a powerful device with Modern hardware which has been released with the last year, maybe two at most.

I did multiple tests today with Mini3/N1. I used both the P20pro and Samsung A54. Both showed good confetti, shuld I trust the confetti test? Some of the mission was executed ok, others not. It seems like one of the biggest issues is to turn direction, the drone somtimes just spins around its own axis, as there where no compass.
Hi Terje. The confetti test does not mean it will always work well on every plan. I don’t use my 6 year old iPhone 8 Plus but DL has it on their list of low performance devices and the confetti still runs smoothly. The mapping component takes more resources to run well compared to a path or orbit component especially if it’s a large map plan. Anything is possible but so far you’re the only one reporting this so it seems to be a drone or possibly device issue. The A54 is newer and should work but did you actually run a map plan with the Samsung A54 ? If so did it work ? Also did you go completely go through everything and do a firmware refresh on both the drone and controller with the DJI Assistant 2 software as I mentioned. Then calibrate the IMU and compass. If not I’d do all this first and then try with the newer A54 and report back. If after going through absolutely everything and still having issues then DL may need to assist further. Also can you share the plan just so someone can take a look at it and possibly run that mission with their Mini 3 to see how it works. It may help.
Are there any further updates on this? I've just found this thread after experiencing exactly the same issue, with my Mini 3 Pro and Samsung A54 5G. I've had the problem increasingly over the last few months after working perfectly since I got the A54 in March. I've tried recalibrating compass and IMU which had no effect.
